Does it seem like there is a major food crisis in the US right now?
  • Oh cheer up already. All you have to do is guess who the king is. Really making a big deal out of this.

  • Nyquest NY8A051H - 1.5 cent microcontroller : weekend die-shot : ZeptoBars
  • AVR is good. Though, I have the XGecu and Microchip IDE (The windows 98 looking one). It does a good job with PIC MCs. Surprised there isn't a command compiler for Microchip ASM like CC. Someone would surely have made a linter and autocomplete for NVim as well. Anyway..

Older chips are made obsolete because of higher power consumption paired with worse performance. I am surprised it is viable to make them at all, let alone at 1,5 cents per. Obviously a lot of manufacturers clinging to old familiar roads.

Not long ago having own PCB design meant bank breaking, organ selling investment.

I really appreciate that I have proof that I am not able to make anything useful to humanity, and money is not the cause. To mineself I can be true now... 😞

  • You can only do this to sites that skipped or didn't take seriously enough step 2. Depending on how good the sites filtering requests is, this can range from 100$ linux server running python scripts for account creation. 100 accounts = 100 upvotes. All the way to very sophisticated proxy networking, capcha cracking, in some cases even AI driven internet monopoly demon that isn't too cheap, so it better be making everyone else miserable enough to make you not think about doing a ninja flip from a 4 story building into a wood chipping machine for a couple of minutes.

  • Sure. What's another landfill on the internet.

Step 1: Make your own "social" website.

Step 2: Prevent bots from signing in. (You really don't want to miss this step, otherwise you're free real estate.)

Step 3: Write your own bots that will scrape other "social" websites for content. This is to attract people before original content begins to form.

Step 4: Sell post priority and upvotes. And there you have it. Your own money generating cesspool of gradual deterioration.

That's it. And yes.. Easier said than done. Step 2 is really the hardest one. Perhaps make it obligatory to sign in with a phone number or something, cause capchas are a whole battlefield in itself. I don't really know how hard / easy it is to get a bunch of phone numbers to use for this purpose...

  • Ah, there it is. The sponsored hate train. Like reddit, but cheaper. But hey, thanks for keeping this site running.

  • Using "mind's eye" is the equivalent of GPGPU, in computer analogy. Using the very powerful visual memory processing for non-visual data, resulting in a clairvoyant representation. Useful for introspection, but not limited to it.

  • 'The gold rush is over:' Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon devs say that big Game Pass and Epic exclusive deals have dried up for indie devs
  • Now that I think about it...

Platform exclusive deals are a weird gamble of publisher saying: "I bet your game is so good, it will pull players to our platform and make up for this investment in the future", and developer saying: "I bet that you are overestimating the value of my game, and I am not loosing on potential sales on other platforms." ...

In reality developers will be attracted to reliable platform offering quality service. A good cut also helps.

  • Oh no. The mere possibility of thought... It is a very serious business. Stay safe. Cool photo, by the way.

  • So, looks like Putin's ordered the Russian government to 'consider the issue of organising' domestic versions of the Steam Deck, SteamOS, and Steam itself (with a side order of Steam Machines)
  • Sounds ambitious. Games are an important part of modern culture. Recognizing that is a responsible action. On the other hand, haters will have more than just Epic Games to be angry at, so it is a win for everyone.

  • We used to be a country [OC]
  • You expressed feelings of nostalgia, but phrased them in way that may by implication indicate fault in current regime. It's called blame, and you know what they say.. You can't spell "blame" without "lame".
