I heard it's a tradeoff.
Downvoted by liberals because they hate it when a Conservative agrees with them. Lmao.
I really want to know how fragile the soclib echo chamber on Lemmy is that you downvote brigade a post about plastic pollution just because you're too stubborn to realize you can agree with some things with a conservative.
"screw the environment if Conservatives wanna take care of it!!"
Nah fr. At my old university the school found out alot of students who quit marijuana had their grades improve, not because weed =bad, but rather that removing the CBD allowed them to increase their ambition.

Without an ‘enemy’, no taxpayer would fork out an average US$1,087 for Pentagon contractors over US$270 for their children’s subpar education.
America's Bank Bailout Regime
In mid-March, in response to a global financial panic, Swiss regulators forced UBS, a huge Swiss Bank, to purchase Credit Suisse, another huge Swiss Bank. This action created just one huge Swiss bank, with no serious competitors. It’s not good for a nation that prides itself on its financial system ...

Why We Should Invest in Transit
Plenty of debate swirls around the question of whether or not government services like transit should be "free" to the end user. Here's what's missing from that debate.
Hi, Muslim here!
That sounds very generous of you, honestly I think you're being very accommodating and that's already very nice.
I think something simple like gift bouquets are fine, at grocery stores.
My neighbours give my family those sometimes. If one box has gelatin, we just give that specific box to a different neighbour.
But generally it's ok, just any generic gift bouquet should be fine.
Thanks for being a great neighbour!
I see your point, and I totally understand your perspective.
The way I see it, there's two things
-
if it isn't broke, don't change it. Why change it for the sake of change
-
I disagree with the word progress and I think sometimes it can be a meaningless buzzword. The example I'll give is Europe and alcohol liberalization, vs North America (conservative laws on alcohol). Europe has worse teen drinking issues, and some of the highest alcohol disease per capita rates in the world.
So I think all progress is change, but not all change is actually progress.
Can you expand on this point? If you're making a claim you can elaborate on it.
