My Ubuntu (Snapless) desktop system. I prefer a Mac-like interface overall, but I don't want it to be EXACTLY like a Mac. I've used MacOS since it was known as NeXTSTEP, but I'd rather my Linux desktop have its own identity. I'm done with Macs, thanks to the lock-in and the overall direction that it's been going. It seems they discontinue stuff on a whim these days.
I'm also calling out the Strawberry music player a little bit for not having a "dark mode," which I prefer. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Strawberry; it's my favorite music app on Linux and huge kudos to Jonas et. al. for the development work! I just wish it had a true "dark mode."
My next build may be Debian-based, since it's seen much improvement in the desktop space and I already run Debian 12 on my servers. It's getting to be too much of a hassle to get rid of the stuff that I don't want on Ubuntu...
OS X(Mac) saw a decrease.
OSX makes no sense to me these days. I can have a similar interface in Linux with Gnome+Dash-to-Dock, plus I get access to most PC games via Proton and it provides ALL of the development tools that I need. I'd add that, at least in my experience, most Ryzen-based laptops run Linux with absolutely no issues...
Normandy Beach, D-Day. You read about the scale, but to see it in person...
