Does anyone have experience with viewing .mp4 files in Godot 4?
  • You are right. I just wanted to get mp4 (or the h.264) codec to work as a start. My main goal is to be able to play video files using codecs supported by (certain builds of) ffmpeg. It is possible to replace the used build of ffmpeg by another one. I would likely use a build that only supports non patent encumbered codecs.

I would like to be able to view mp4 files in my Godot game, but I can't seem to get this extension to work properly. I hear sound, but I do not see the picture.

I have gotten the built-in video player to work and it seems to work quite well. The downside is that it only supports Ogg Theora, which is unfavorable for my use case.

Edit: In case it matters, I run Godot 4.2.1 on linux.

EU climate chief: China must help fund rescue of poorer nations hit by disaster
  • I'm pretty sure they already do. The articles states China did not have to contribute before, as they were still a developing nation. Now they are in a position where they can pay, so they should, is what Wopke Hoekstra seems to be arguing.
