I think it goes by calendar days. I just recently did a 15 mile trail run, that day got 35k steps. Then a couple days later did a 17 mile hike and got 45k steps that day. I think you'll be fine really, usually you take smaller steps when you hike, and smaller steps up and down hills.

The inuit folk I've talked to said that sometimes they have to shoot a polar bear if it's harassing the village. When they kill one, it's not uncommon to find bullets in it from the last time it was harassing a village. Polar bears are big and scary and we are destroying their habitat.

So random thought here, is the US's bad history with slavery a direct result of European colonialism? Like I'm not saying it's all Europe's fault, but Europe did export many racist things(?) over to the US. Like they brought over the institution of slavery, France invented a racist caste system for it's colony based directly on how closely descendant a person is from a European. Many plantations were growing cash crops to ship back to Europe.

I'm not trying to absolve the US in its actions, but try to understand how it got there in the first place.
