What's your Sci-Fi unpopular opinion?
  • Episode 4,5 and 6 are great. The Prequels were a mess and visually did not fit, story was dreadful and George should have been shoo'd away.

The sequels are some of the worst cinema ever, and I have seen Vampire Trailer Park in full as well as the full, uncut version of Pink Flamingos.

  • I recently finished all of trek
  • I've been on a marathon since April. In order I've watched Discovery season 2-4, SNW, TNG, DS9 and am at season 6 of Voyager. I've also broken up Voyager with the first 6 movies.

I did manage a couple of ToS episodes but I honestly find ToS hard to watch.

Voyager is feeling like a slog so it's not background viewing while I work from home and I've switched to The Orville for my evening viewing recently with a plan to watch Babylon 5 after.

  • Star Trek Adventures?
  • I've been trying to find a UK or at least EU timezoned game for a while and they are few and far between, even on the old Reddit STA discords.

I've got some personal stuff coming up in the next month or so but once that's settled I'll try and find a group again.

I can send you the discord links for them if you fancy. US timezone seems to get a fair few groups.

  • I think Voyager is underrated
  • I've been ploughing through Trek since April and am finally at season 6 of Voyager. While it is better than I remember it's still my second least favourite Trek so far. Some really good episodes but the ratio of stinkers and/or just plain boring ones seems very high and I am finding it a real stamina battle.

  • Space: Above and Beyond

This is an old forgotten gem of a sci fi series from the 90's. Created by a couple of the X-Files writers it was unfortunately cut before a second season could be made.

Personally it is one of my favourite series and as it's here on YouTube I'd recommend it to everyone.

Premise 'Set in the years 2063–2064, the show focuses on the "Wildcards", members of the United States Marine Corps 58th Squadron of the Space Aviator Cavalry. They are stationed on the space carrier USS Saratoga, acting as both infantry and pilots of SA-43 Endo/Exo-Atmospheric Attack Jet ("Hammerhead") fighters, battling an invading force of extraterrestrials.'
