I haven't really seen anyone say this, but I think it would be awesome for a new non-lemmy branch of the fediverse to be solely for things like grassroots reviews and recommendations. Of course, even as I say that, I'm highly aware of how easy it would be for it to just be full of shills there too.. it would be nice though. Every other spot on the internet seems to be all paid listicles with affiliate links. Everything is mass made in factories with no emphasis on quality, and the top 10 xyz things are just full of random things people found on amazon (and didn't necessarily test themselves). I hate it when I'm looking for quality. I'd love to see a different take on that that's more straightforward. Something more honest. Like everything we used the 'google + reddit' search for, but in a place where it isn't being paid for or controlled by conglomerates and information siphoning giants. A giant review site for everything under the sun, products and/or services, where you comment with your fediverse account for credibility. And no affiliate links. I'd love to know what anyone else thinks of this. :P

Maybe rubbing alcohol? It's a solvent. Ideally you'd want to pull the battery etc. while doing this and try to tip it so the coffee gets diluted by the alcohol and then carried out as the solution drips off. I've seen JayzTwoCents clean other computer parts with alcohol baths. I'd try something like 70-90%. I might just be talking out my ass though. But that's what I would try if I was determined to try to fix it without taking it apart. :p Make sure it has time to dry before using it.

inb4 people learn about what the animal industry actually does to their unnecessary animals. The baby boy chicks are just as worse off imo. 😞

I love the color here. I've never been past Vancouver but I'd love to go out to Jasper. It looks so pretty. I would say as far as photography goes, one tip I've heard is to try to have a focal point. Your focal point here seems to be the mountain, but it's getting distracted by some of the noise in front. I would try to make the focal point more distinct and obvious, and make sure you don't have other elements competing for attention (like bushes/trees). Try to get rid of any clutter when framing the shot. Or if you do have framing, make it look intentional. Line things up between trees if needed. It seems like you did a bit of framing here, but I would try to get it to be brighter and look more intentional and fuller. The best focal points will have lines in the photo pointing towards them, like a road points to a spot on the horizon.

Similarly, you could have a branch in front of the mountain, but if you're doing something like that I would suggest to keep the branch in focus and the mountain blurred out (so the branch would be the subject). Etc. I hope that makes sense!

Thanks for sharing that resource. I've been doing a lot of self-help lately too but still found myself especially weighed down today. The website was really straightforward and had friendly, simple advice, which was relieving.

Same here. I went through a breakup recently and I've been trying my hardest to not go paddling back to reddit to distract myself from all the feelings... It sucks to not have a place to vent and lean on. I hope the communities keep growing. It's really good vibes here so far, I'm looking forward to more posts as people join.

Most of my purchases cover the first two. I used to spend lots and lots of time researching products that were the best I could get for the price. Usually with lifestyle goals - camping, traveling, tinkering. Things for my apartment to make it cozier. The best rope basket, the best rain jacket. The best onebag bag. The best travel sized everything. SFFPC parts. It honestly was actually out of hand. I was completely doing it to escape the stress of my job and life, spending hours looking at keycaps or pens or blankets. I have really particular taste but I've cut down spending a lot by just completely stopping my research and prioritizing paying off my credit cards.

So if anyone relates and needs help doing this.. pm me, you have my support! Lol. It was a likely shopping addiction. I love having a high quality thing to make my life simpler and getting it at a great price. Just have to remember that if you feel like you can't go without it, you probably can. The most valuable things to me now are the ones I intentionally save up for. :)
