FFXIV lets you do almost all of the main story solo now, making the amazing story accessible to so many people. There are a few instances of having to do an alliance raid or trial every 40 hours of solo content or so, but if you weren’t ok with that, why even play an MMO? It’s in the name, “multiplayer.”
Yep. Was just about to say this. FFXIV has a strong community, and the director actually listens to the community. Like with Bozja in 5.x content, it was so fun and a really nice way to get a relic weapon and have a good time with friends. With 6.x they didn’t implement anything like it and the community let them know, so they have said that they are doing something similar for 7.x. Some midcore/harder content that’s accessible to everyone.
Yea, I had my phone taken a few times in school. It’s fine.
But I was programming on my calculator more. My history teacher was the only one to say anything about it since it was very distracting for me. But he never took it.
Yep, screw Breyer’s. They legally cannot call it ice cream.
I took it as bronies and furries work together on Linux distros, so you’re missing half the team, not the full team.
But most bronies I know are getting into the furry fandom, myself included.
In our Seattle neighborhood, we call people out for being political. It’s pretty tame here, believe it or not.
A lot of lost pets though, so it’s sad to scroll through.
It’s crazy that Tesla is on the front page of here, but when I type in Tesla, there are no results. So broke of a website.
Me and my wife are both big gamers. We both enjoyed it a lot. I get what you’re talking about in the gameplay loop, but we play games for stories. The story was engaging and kept us interested. I did enjoy the gameplay though.
How is Apple Pay just as bad? I haven’t heard anything that they do like this. There is no advertising in the Apple ecosystem. In fact, several places (like Walmart) don’t want to adopt the tap to pay because for some cards, it blocks tracking from them by using a pseudo randomized credit card number every time. It makes using the rewards for places a pain, but it works at maintaining harder tracking for whoever you’re paying.
Yep. Me and my wife moved from Mississippi to Seattle 2.5 years ago. Best decision ever.
Satanism is weird. Let’s use The Satanic Temple tenets instead:
I
One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
II
The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
III
One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
IV
The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
V
Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.
VI
People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
VII
Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
It’s more of an example how a more popular candidate can lose because RCV still depends on first past the post and isn’t that much better. It’s not translated by points. Everyone gets #1 first. If anyone has 51%, they win and we’re done. If no one has 51%, then we eliminate the least popular candidate, transferring the votes. This continues until one is at 51%. RCV is a bandaid.
Check out this CGP Grey video about RCV: https://youtu.be/3Y3jE3B8HsE
You total all of the points. So say 100 people with the 51/49 doing A/B at 5, and all 100 do C at 4. A would have 255 points, B would have 245 points, and C would have 400. C wins by a landslide.
You can rank every candidate, so you can give multiple people 5’s. If you can’t decide between them. In RCV, if 51% vote #1 for candidate A, 49% vote #1 for candidate B, but 100% vote #2 for candidate C, the winner is still candidate A even though everyone voted for C. Everyone would’ve been a little satisfied. In STAR, if everyone put 4’s for C, they would win.
STAR voting is so much better than RCV. RCV is only marginally better than first past the post.
Exactly. There are people who save so much to retire early, but I’m in my late 20’s and just living life instead of waiting. Sure, I’m putting away some money into my Roth and 401k to retire on time and live a comfy life after that, but I’m definitely traveling, going to events, spending more to live in a city, etc.
Yea, last time I tired, you have to connect to its personal wifi hotspot and download them via the app. It’s so backwards!
I don’t think either should be banned. We just need data protection laws. The government going after single companies sets a dangerous precedent.
What the EU did with some of their compliance laws that targeted Google and Apple was set a number of users, so it wasn’t necessarily targeting a single or set company, as it applied to future companies too.
When changing biometric data on the iPhone, it locks you out of using it in other apps, making you put in your bank/other specific password.
Both of those require their own password or biometrics, so you couldn’t access those either.
Memmy Icons
Seems they added some new icons, like pride which I may end up using now, but they got rid of the orange one??? Why? :( I have a color theme going on and nothing works that isn’t orange. Any idea if we’re getting it back?
