We moeten eigenlijk iets van een tracker hebben, om elke stem/beslissing en nevenactiviteiten van elk kamerlid te tracken en documenteren. En dan makkelijk doorzoekbaar maken en categoriseren.

I personally like it, although it is good to check what the optimal place of the stations is. It should be both benefitial to the North of Germany and the North of the Netherlands, and connect as many people in that area. So maybe you'd need an additional station near Oldenberg or Bremen to not skip over too much of east Germany.
If you also place a High speed line south from Amsterdam-Essen-(further south like) and Essen-Hanover-Hamburg, you have most of that area covered.
But my guess is that they'd build an Amsterdam-Hanover-Berlin line, especially when they don't plan ahead.
At somepoint probably yeah. Unfortunately, it does seem that Amsterdam-Berlin seems to be pushed for a lot, and I fear for that poor decision fucking up the rest of the raillines.
An Amsterdam-hamburg-berlin line makes more sense imo, especially when you push it more towards the north as it doesn't cut the countries in half. It also gives you possibility to expand both north towards scandanavia, which you can extend further south to the rest of europe, or eastern europe through berlin.
But I doubt that will happen, because that is a bit slower than through hanover

Amsterdam-Berlin is vanity project that is a diservice to both the Netherlands and Germany. The only benefactors are Amsterdam and Berlin
It's not like this initiative disallows you from building other high speed rail connections.
It does though, raillines cost money and money is finite.
When you build poorly planned highspeed lines any new line you want to build after that is going to be underutilized. Underutilized raillines will be (and have been) scrapped, which makes certain areas even less reachable by train
I think a Rome-Berlin line makes somewhat sense, due to the south-west - north-east coverage you get. But Amsterdam-Berlin does nothing more than isolating the North of both the Netherlands and Germany even further
I don't agree with it. There are many capital cities that are in terrible locations for highspeed rail and are would be a diservice to the rest of the country.
Cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, and Viena are just the worst places to reach for most of their respective countries. Say you live in Munich and you want to travel to Amsterdam, you are still stuck on the slow train if you focus on a Berlin-Amsterdam route.
If high speed rail is supposed to be successful it should be about covering geographical distance fast. Or the car and planes are still going to be the prefered option.

Honestly, I don't see anything essential about reddit, or any other social media for that matter. Social media is kind of similar to fast food chains in that regard. It's not great for us and we can do without, but nice that they exist

Ja, maar niet zoals je zou denken. Ik was bekend met mastodon, maar vind het waardeloos in de praktijk. Met de blackout dacht in van de reddit enorm makkelijk te vervangen door een decentralized reddit, was nieuwsgierig, en vond lemmy met wat google termen (weet niet meer wat)
Wat vind je tot dusver van de Lemmy ervaring? Wat mist er?
Het is oke, maar niet helemaal zoals ik mij voorgesteld had. Lemmy heeft wat zwakke punten als het gaat om decentralisatie. Of er is enorm veel kans op fragmentatie, waar je 100 verschillende communities hebt die allemaal het zelfde zijn (met de zelfde leden en content, dus je krijgt alles 100x dubbel te zien, die je met 10 verschillende accounts moet volgen omdat sommige instances niet willen samenwerken)
Of alles wordt gecentraliceerd naar een paar instances. En de eigenaar van de instance kan je zonder reden jouw en jouw communities bannen, dus je moet maar kunnen vertrouwen op z'n blauwe ogen dat die een beetje om kan gaan met meningsverschillen.
Denk je dat Lemmy of een andere fediverse site leidt tot de terugkeer van kleinere forums en communities op internet?
Mogelijk. In mijn ideale wereld heb in een centrale client waar je updates van alle soort forums kan volgen die jij interessant vindt, zonder dat je op 100 verschillende forums moet inloggen. En ik denk dat dit een stap in de goede richting is.
Why care though? It is not like reddit is offering an essential service.
if you don't want to use it, because it has become unusable, then don't use it. If reddit users want to keep using it, then they can keep using it.
In the end it is only Reddit's problem if they start losing users.

Mag voor mij opzich wel wat thematiser zijn zijn. @beehaw.org heeft een honingraad als thema, want bijen. Voor de @feddit.nl zou ik voor iets meer icoonisch Nederlands gaan.
Al vind ik de Nederlandse vlag misschien iets te. Misschien een vector van een tulp met een icoontje er in, of een windmolen ofzo (als geeft die iets te veel ruis)
Het beleid van de gemeente is hard achteruit gegaan. Het wordt langzaam steeds minder bereikbaar.
Wat ik een beetje mis is dat je niet makkelijk in "ronde" getallen kan betalen. Als ik iets voor 42 euro bestel vind ik het prima om hier 45 of 50 euro voor te betalen als fooi (wanneer ik in een royale bui ben)
Maar goed dat gaat niet altijd even makkelijk in de bezorg apps. De bezorg apps hebben hier zelf toch niks aan. Waarom het de gebruiker makkelijker maken om meer geld te geven aan bezorgers, terwijl ze dat beter kunnen gebruiken on vaker te bestellen.
Zou idd helpen als je gewoon opties krijgt zoals "42.13" "43 euro" "45 euro" "50 euro" wanneer je betaald
I do have quite a laundry list of remarks for Lemmy too. The bugginess and lack of features is understandable. But it is quite centralized and I see a future where it will be more centralized the more users will join due to a bit of a fundemental flaw of federation.
Maybe these problems will be fixable. I hope so, because I think it is a really cool concept. But I am not sure if I agree with the execution of it. I would love to contribute to this project if these problems are fixable.
Well, looking at all the comments in this post, not everyone agrees with that. i do think the Apollo dev is a king in how he has handled everything though
