hoping this isn’t leading to a sewer opening or sketchy van uh….sure…?
I got an intel right when the M1's came out because I didn't want to be a guinea pig for the M1. I guess I will move up to M2 when those prices start to fall because the fan is a huge drag. Otherwise I love it; it was my first Mac.
ha yep. this album got me through the worst data entry job ever.
Here in kbin you have to know the whole long address
The @ of the person do you want to follow
The full @ of the mastodon server
two for two on forgetting to close my quotes 🤯
KAY bin ..... right? (RIGHT??
........
🤯
I don't know why I didn't think I could do this this way, just never tried lol
Thank you!
I think I'd say some thing kind of like no two are the same in a way. And by that I mean that each one has a little bit different technique. So that a bad experience with one might be because the vape itself is a piece of crap, or because of a technique issue.
All of that said, it is definitely worth the patience, worth it to your health, to vape instead of smoke though. So be willing to try a couple of different techniques when it comes to packing, or when it comes to how you inhale, to get the most out of the experience
Going a little bit different direction than some of the other responses, I feel like hash-tagging (wait that's called something else now...?) content is important in helping people to find you in searching. And I'm thinking of search as a particularly important function as platforms like this are growing.
I see posts that are heavily (15 or more) tagged.... that may not even qualify as "heavily" out here in the fediverse, just something new to me.
Been thinking about this a little bit and how I can personally lean into it versus my own insecurities. So this is a way for me to exercise self-promotion.
doesn't work well in my opinion (MacBook Pro and trackpad only)
whyyyyyy is moving files on a Mac so harddddd
whyyyyyy is moving files on a Mac so harddddd
It's not ridiculous that I have files that I want to move from one folder to another folder - not copy. Move.
Never understood why 'move to folder' is not a drop-down option
It's such a basic freaking function
The whole three finger drag requires me to arrange all of my windows so that I can drag stuff to a place without folders unless it gets lost in that folder that I'm dragging it past
Click and drag on a trackpad equals me opening up whatever I'm trying to move
I spent soooooooo much time griping about basic functionality in windows products
If you got a better technique toss it at me
So I guess I could finish that thought —
This is a place I imagine as someplace are actively contribute to. I’ve been gone for a few days, and I’m just realizing today how worn out I’ve been.
Wild Kratts is great. Got me through pandemic isolation
Enjoy. It will be a splurge for me one day.
It's a column called "Ths Soapbox"
howling into the void
Yep that's what feels like, and it's part of starting a community because how is anyone going to find you if you're not making any noise?
It's actually exciting. During my first week around here, someone framed it as the shift from consuming content to making contact and I found that really compelling
The other thing I'm thinking about is how the other site was like joining a conversation, but here we are starting conversations
You may have just unlocked how he won
How I have been enjoying /kbin on iOS
Just some stuff I have noticed in spending too much time on this over this weekend
-
the UI has a sidebar that renders as a super long column on mobile; updates are coming. So you will have to scroll a BIT to figure out where you are and access the menu I'm talking about below
-
There are two settings menus: one in the hamburger menu on, and then there is a small gray gear menu. The gear menu let you access themes and the mini-menu bar is at the top that help with navigation
-
most users make their subscription list private for reasons understandably, but I will look at other people's subscription list to see if there is anything I am interested in following and / or just follow the people
-
you can set your homepage to just see your subscriptions. I understand that grouping magazine subscriptions is also on the pipeline
Between having a home page in my subscriptions, and setting my notifications and just scrolling through those to see everything that has been posted in my magazines ....
.... I am having what feels like my normal show up and scroll and see what's going on experience
All of that said, another user mention the shift from consuming to producing, which is really interesting and intriguing thoughts for me personally and how I relate to the fediverse
Any other tips or tricks?
How has kbin bin (been) for you so far?
