If you value privacy, ditch Chrome and switch to Firefox now
  • This is already handled by Firefox's very own Multi-Account Containers extension.

I like to add Sticky Window Containers for extra functionality. Sidebery also works well with containers.

  • Ant wants to be the GOAT Shooting guard.
  • Third MJ unretirement incoming.

  • Favourite RSS reader?
  • This is my choice as well. Sadly it has long since stopped getting updates - while basic RSS features will always work, hoping Feedly integration keeps working.

  • What from reddit do you hope to never see on lemmy?
  • This grinds my gears everytime questions of this form show up: X people of Reddit, what is the most FUCKED UP Y you have seen while Z?

  • As Twitter flounders, Mastodon refreshes its official app for Android users
  • If you're on their mobile app, press and hold the home button for a second or so, and a list of recommended accounts will show up.

  • YSK: Feel like you only see the same 2-day old content? At least on lemmy.world, you can change your homepage's default sorting type & scope to "Hot" and "All"
  • It doesn't help that we have pinned posts from many communities hogging the top space in many sorting options, without a way to get rid of them.

  • Daily random discussion - Jul 1, 2023
  • Really liking this Wefwef (wefwef.app) wrapper for Lemmy. Now we finally have a good mobile client for Android (ironic, since it's very much based on Apollo). It's really taken the sting out of losing mobile access to Reddit. Now looking forward to the rest of the stepping up their game. But still excited for Sync and Boost to come out and announce their clients!

  • What are your must-have top features you’d want to see in a Lemmy app or web client?
  • Apart from the ones already mentioned,

    • being able to collapse all threads in a post to only show parent-level comments
    • keyboard shortcuts ala RES (esp the J-K navigation)
    • more themes (the default ones suck)
    • more image improvements
  • 7 in 10 Pinoys satisfied with performance of Marcos admin in Q1 – OCTA survey
  • Being "forgettable" is actually a good thing in this case.

  • Infinity for Reddit's latest update...
  • The devs were hoping that they can keep their apps up and their livelihoods without too much additional work, that's fair from them I suppose. But they should definitely be taking a hard look at porting their existing apps for the Fediverse, if they aren't yet.

  • Infinity for Reddit's latest update...
  • I mean what's the point. This is all just going to pay Reddit for the privilege of a hobbled 3rd-party app experience (and no NSFW). And we now know how much Reddit cares about you using their API.

  • litebg.se, the lightweight RARBG copy
  • I've seen a bunch of would-be RARBG clones crop up (a few days ago there was one calling itself Not Quite RARBG which promptly went down); how do we know this is safe?

  • What's the best place to get news now?
  • Just subscribe to RSS feeds from your new sites.

I use InnoReader, which I prefer to Feedly. Syncs Free plan allows you up to 150 feeds and shows ads (which you can easily get around).

  • Don't forget to upvote!
  • Here, I upvoted you ;)

  • The front page of Lemmy is mostly posts from 2-4 days ago. I can see people getting bored/not bothering to check back if it's always the same posts on the default sort.
  • Yes, you summed up what was bothering me about this site. Intended or not, it's giving the impression of a ghost town outside of a few threads.

  • One of Steam’s best strategy games is free right now
  • Indeed it's only the base game, just like when it went free the last time.

  • Want to enjoy Lemmy on your phone but not a fan of Jerboa? Try Native Alpha!
  • To me it's fairly laggy.. also to do a page refresh I've had to resort to tapping on the website banner as it seems that pull-to-refresh isn't possible.

All that said, it works well enough and always great to have choices!
