They had a ridiculous accelerator cable similar to a bicycle brake cable that often broke. I’m pretty sure I’ve been in that position routing a replacement to the engine.
I've been waxing my gravel, road and mountain bike chains for a little over a year. Unless I've been in mud/sand/rain I only hot wax a new chain. For maintenance, I wipe the chain with a dry microfiber towel until there is very little dirt and then apply silca super secret chain coating (wet easy to apply wax, but it takes time to dry). This takes very little time and if it weren't for that product I would probably have gone back to another type of lube. I think silca recommends full waxing at some interval but I have found no reason to do that unless the chain is unusually dirty.
