Akkoma and Hubzilla are different because of the permission system and all this other CMS functions.
those access permissions sort of federate to other Zot protocol using sites (but not the wider Fediverse),
there were improvements done in the last years... so with the OCAP function ( /settings/privacy ) and guest tokens ( /tokens ) we can share permissions for files across the Fediverse ... and even to people who do not have a Fedi Account jet

Sure - Hubzilla has file-sharing functionality... but the files stay on your could....
The magic and real power of Hubzilla however is that you can share permission and access rights across Fedi Servers...
so even the files stay on your server you can "federate" access all over the Fediverse ... you can´t do that with Nextcloud
With Nextcloud you can share with an Email account holder - with Hubzilla you can share with an Fedi account holder

auch das geht mit HZ :-)
aber interessant ist doch zu verstehen dass eine serverübergreifende Hashtagsuche in einem dezentralen Netzwerk nicht ohne das vorhalten von zentralen Indexen effective funktionieren kann bzw. nur auf sehr großen Servern zu Ergebnissen führt die man von zentralen Netzwerken gewohnt ist.
Die von zentralen Netzwerken antrainierte Erwartungshaltung muss also überwunden werden wenn man etwas Eigenständiges anstrebt was auf Dezentralität aufbaut. @caos So was würde ich auch gerne in dem Artikel lesen :-)
@wako Wenn man an etwas Eigenständiges denkt dürfte man sich nicht so sehr and bekannte Vorbilder orientieren sondern viel mehr an nötigen Funktionen für ein souveränes Handeln in dezentralen Netzwerken.

if you post somewhere on the Fediverse, and some Threads user bumps into it, they can follow you, and that will send all that data to Meta. And it looks to include data well beyond the post the Threads user saw.

and that is why #hubzilla and #streams have a permission system to avoid that... you can set up rules and decide who can see your posts and what they can to with it...

to be sure that your posts don't end up on the META Servers you need to post with ACL - Access Control List - but since lemmy does not offer that jet you may have to use an other fedi software with ACL
@taladar Wir wollen ein Netz in dem die Dinge verteilt organisiert sind und nicht wieder Knoten die sich aus welchen Gründen auch immer über andere erheben... wenn nun z.B. auf feddit.de für alle großen Stadt in NRW Foren entstehen und diese sich auch noch etablieren würden wäre das wieder so eine unschöne Konzentration
