July 2022 C.C. - Report on Political Developments

Summing Up

The BJP is on the offensive using and misusing state power to push its communal-corporate agenda. The secular opposition parties are unable to put up a convincing united fight even on agreed issues. As stated in the Party Congress resolution, the Congress party in the intervening period has further shown its inability to rally all the secular forces against the BJP. In such a situation it is essential for the Party to gear up its independent activities at all levels while making sincere efforts for Left unity. In this period in some States the party has successfully organised programmes and mobilisations along with other democratic and secular forces against the communalism of the BJP-RSS. These efforts should intensify. The Party must devote its energies in building up such struggles at the local and State level while simultaneously uniting people against the communal bulldozer politics of the BJP-RSS.

So I have a question about "fitting in" with neoliberalism

Hi, I have a question that I can't find any one else talking about in the texts/posts I've read so far.

I've been thinking that if everyone is capable of being brainwashed by capitalist realism, save if they have in some way picked up on communist ideas, they could be being anything on the right side of the political spectrum. To me, it seems, staying in a traditional country, conservatism is coded in reality, just like in some non-traditional countries, liberalism is more likely to be found (sorry if I'm being simplistic, I am of course open to explaining this further).

To relate with people in neoliberalism, where nobody is benefitting except the upper castes (also known as oppressor castes here), one must either align with conservative or liberal values?

But praxis also involves taking radical steps in daily life, organising, informing, educating. Is there anyone who has written about this from the point of view of how someone who has been "radicalised" can align their views more relevantly, to relate and to a better job at praxis? What do you comrades think?

Oscar Wilde's essay on Socialism is interesting

He discusses the idea of 'individualism' in the face of the "authoritarianism" of the... socialist tendencies in his time. Barely touches upon the materialistic aspects of it, but the essay is useful in its analysis of the 'individual' in the face of his fear for withering of the same under the state.

I should hardly think anyone conceives of giving up the self entirely for a collectivist cause, the way Oscar Wilde is portraying it. Because that's tough to do in material circumstances today, also absolute selflessness is like really tough, even, say, in the framework which individualistic development the way Oscar conceives of can operate? I'd really like to know if any other socialist texts touch upon this topic as well.
