The phrasing you reference is not intended to reference a theistic creator, rather as a way to acknowledge that it is not the role of government to confer rights to the people - we are owed them inherently. “Our creator” could just as readily be interpreted to mean a series of entirely natural processes that can be explained by scientific principles.
The founding fathers themselves explicitly acknowledged that the government was not founded on religious principles on many, many occasions. You are free to believe (or not) in anything you like, but there is no place within our government for the consideration of religious beliefs in how we make or apply our laws.
OP is relying on a strawman themselves by continuing to use the term “pro-life” to represent the anti-abortion side of the argument. One can be in support of legal, safe access to abortion and still feel that abortion is against their own moral values.
A true “pro-life” stance should by its very definition include the lives of those who could potentially be harmed by carrying a high risk or unwanted pregnancy to term, as well as those of the children born into situations in which their basic needs are unlikely to be met. And yet, far too often we see those who label themselves “pro-life” completely ignore the value of these lives.

Long stickied post always visible
I understand there’s a lot of work going into this app so I wanted to thank you right off the bat!
I’m having an issue I can’t seem to figure out how to resolve and it’s unfortunately making the app unusable for me.
Every time I look at my feed the first post is a very long stickied post about how to use Lemmy World. While it’s helpful information, I have to scroll past it every time I go to use the app no matter the sort I choose. The only way around this is to go to a specific community directly. It takes so long to scroll past I’ve just given up using the app for now.
Is there a way to collapse posts in the feed or hide read posts, or ignore stickied posts? I’ve been using the mobile web browser in the meantime but it’s not ideal.

If you're in the south or a warm climate - a whole house fan. You don't typically find these in newer construction anymore but they can really save you a bundle on cooling costs.
I signed up for Mastodon awhile back but never really got into it since I don't really do Twitter much either. I have been reading about lemmy but didn't sign up until today.
It was a little confusing trying to sign up, the first instance I tried to sign up with had a waiting period for account approvals but I finally found one I could sign up with instantly and then I started poking around. I think I am getting the hang of it!
I have also downloaded Mlem to test on my iphone. It's easy and simple to use, not a lot of features yet but it seems promising.
So far outside of a bit of focus time to figure out how to actually get signed up and find communities to subscribe to I'm cautiously optimistic. This seems more like how the older days of the internet were, before the enshittification of social media. Let's see if this trend continues!
