that's actually somewhat how it was supposed to look like but i lost all of my motivation to work on it for now lol
i'll probably get back at it at some point soon and finish the design ( ´ ▽ ` )b
The userscript is going to be a part of KES with the release of 2.0.0, definitely going to keep it in mind for the future (you can probably as well create an issue with adding the preference)
@kbimeta newest tab has been broken for so long lol
"thanks for gold, kind stranger" is no more
Oh, I guess that makes sense, tampermonkey only allows you to automatically update externals monthly, weekly, or daily (and it's also a global setting that users need to set) so that would be annoying.
I love it! I have one question though, wouldn't it be better to separate KES version from all of the userscript/settings versions? Updating from 1.1.4 to 1.1.6 only moved the version up in userscript info, since all the userscripts are updated separately anyway. Updating KES would make sense only if something in kes.user.js
is changed, right now users just get KES update prompts that do nothing.
Would love to! I'm trying to figure out how, I've never used git much and I'm still really new to doing anything JS related (ㅠ﹏ㅠ)
Oh, embarrassing, I completely missed it! Fixed it now, thank you!
afaik european comission's instance isn't usually defederated so I don't see why this one would?
Yeah, I will definitely do it the first thing in the morning! It's too late for me to do that now
It's on the greasyfork page, but I will probably add a warning that shows up if the userscript detects you don't have it enabled in a future update
Are you possibly on Firefox? The userscript now requires the :has()
selector which is disabled behind a flag on Firefox. you can enable it by opening about:config in a new tab, searching for layout.css.has-selector.enabled
and setting it to true
I'm glad! I just released a small update that automatically closes the panel if you click outside of it, so it's also easier to close now (ノ´ヮ´)ノ
Userscript that adds a notification panel to the navigation bar.
I need opinions on a (possibly) new Kbin-it version!!!
Basically I just made something related to images. (My post about it, the instance is blocking the embed so open it in a new tab instead)
Currently on Kbin, when you click to show an image, it creates a container under the article with the full version of the image. I played with it for half an hour and somewhat made it display inside the post instead (like new reddit and social media posts).
Here's how it looks without it Here's how it looks with it
BUT, there's two cons to it
- Long images still display really small, so you need to open the thread to see it fully. That's how a long image looks like
- It doesn't work on embeds (imgur posts NOT imgur images, articles, mastodon posts) yet, I will try to find a way to make them work with it
So my question to is, should I...
- make it as a complete part of the theme
- make it an optional feature you can enable, it's disabled by default
- make it an optional feature you can disable, it's enabled by default
- completely scrap it (a.k.a wait for someone to make a better version of it with a userscript instead of a userstyle)
edit: i forgot to put a second con
Kbin-it - Changelog
I decided to make a changelog to keep a list of changes. There are no updates before 0.0.5 since they didn't add anything outside of small bug fixes. The changelog will get updated every time a new update comes out! If it didn't update for you, make sure you manually checked for updates in the extension! Link to the userstyle: https://userstyles.world/style/10288/kbin-it 0.0.13
- A new default option, "Style tweaks for userscripts". It's a general feature that adds small style changes to different userscripts made by other people, currently for Kbin Subscriptions Panel by @Perry and Improved Collapsible Comments by @artillect Kbin Subscriptions Panel before and after | Improved Collapsible Comments before and after
0.0.12
- Changed the way stuff on the sidebar is displayed, it's now much cleaner and doesn't take as much space if the magazine and user have big avatars Preview images(before/after)
- Various bug fixes
0.0.11
- Fixed the filter breaking down on mobile, no idea how it missed me and how it missed everyone using this theme on their phone, my lord.
- With the fix, the filter is now scrollable and it looks pretty cool Preview image
0.0.10
- Merged both code sections together, they were both separated because of css conflicting with each other and I was too lazy to fix it (lol), but after multiple changes, they are no longer.
- Fixed comment box not displaying with changed css on microblogs and profiles (how did I miss it? who knows)
0.0.9
- Fixed the comment box in portrait mode (reported by @WorseDoughnut)
- Replaced "Add comment" with an icon while you are on mobile (a.k.a your screen width is too small to contain the text in a way that doesn't make it ugly). Preview image
0.0.8
- Replaced URLs to icons with base64, the theme is now 100% local and doesn't load anything from third-party websites (discord cdn and google was used before lol)
- Other minor bug fixes
0.0.7
- New (and first) optional feature: Colored thread child (requested by @Decide) Preview image
- Fixed filter icons being displayed in settings (noticed and reported by @OutZoned)
- I noticed a lot of users having problems with finding what counts as a thread and what as a microblog, so I added a way to separate them from each other. Preview image
0.0.6
- Kbin has a "code" option in its markdown, but it's not displayed correctly, I fixed it. Preview image
0.0.5
- Added icons from Reddit to post filtering. Preview image
