Mastodon's Founder & CEO Gives His Thoughts on Meta's Threads
  • IMHO this is 100% the plan. If they play their cards right they stand to take out two birds with one stone (heh). They've already paid celebrities to be on there.

Still, this can only happen if Threads gets massive enough relative to the rest of the fediverse that the incompatibility doesn't hurt them equally.
...that is to say, it's all pretty likely, unless other strong competitors show up with ActivityPub support.

  • Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson
  • That's a good question! I think you could read this first, but doing so may spoil some things about the Stormlight Archive IF you read some sentences very carefully and commit them to memory. Don't do that if you intend to read this first, or just read Stormlight before Yumi.

  • Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson
  • It's very much a romance novel, so you'd be disappointed if you went in expecting epic action stuff. I haven't read all of cosmere, but as for quality, I'd say it's way above Edgedancer & Dawnshard, and probably a bit below the Emperor's Soul.

I just finished this and really enjoyed it. What did you guys think of it?

    Why the interest in remakes?
  • I can't speak for Trigun, but the Rurouni Kenshin and Spice and Wolf readaptations are easily justified. Firstly, neither of the old anime versions reach the conclusions of their stories.

Moreover, the old Rurouni Kenshin was rife with filler and one of the arcs is completely different from the manga (and in a bad way). As for Spice and Wolf, the old anime skips an entire light novel which introduces a character and plot points that will be relevant later on.

  • Progression Fantasy recommendations? Along the lines of Cradle and Mother of Learning.

    I'm not into LitRPG though.
