Would you trust AI to scan your genitals for STIs?
  • Honestly? Before the AI craze, I'd have said yes, because I believe AIs tailored to do one specific thing can outperform humans. Today? I'd rather not, as I could not let go of the thought that it might be somme shitty model quickly put together by the nephew of the CEO...

  • Which alternatives to the Framework laptop?

I am looking to buy a new laptop, and I'd be interested in the Framework laptop. What I like are the replaceability and upgradeability of parts, and the fact it is not (to my knowledge) tied to any large corporation.

However, they are not available for Switzerland, and there is no telling if and when they will be. I'm not dead set on having replaceable parts, but I'd at least like to have something that would not cause issues if I were to install a Linux distrib' on it (I had a Surface Pro, and had trouble setting up a Mint on it due to missing drivers for the keyboard). And helping smaller companies is a nice plus.

    What would your recommendations be?

  • Now, I'm all for the freedom of defending your country... But am I the only one thinking that this is presented in a bit too much of a good light? Like, what is the title supposed to make me feel? If the nationalities were reversed, would this have been posted here still?

I genuinely thank you for sharing this info, but I can't help feeling uncomfortable reading about atrocious killing devices in a technology thread.

  • The new result is nearly five times better than the previous world’s best published result and finds no evidence of WIMPs above a mass of 9 GeV/c2.

That's pretty neat. I wonder if we're getting close, or if we are making mistaken assumptions.
