  • FreshRSS is a self-hosted RSS feed aggregator, only downside is the language chosen to build it isn't with security & privacy in mind.

  • Since my childhood it's and always has been full of Conservative/Neoliberal Propaganda/PsyOps, I would say good ridden but for fuck sake some damage control & power balance is needed there.

    Why & how it still exists one wonders but I'm betting it's the cycle of abuse (Cognitive & Memory Decline), typical with governments (Nationwide obviously otherwise they would have done something) for the pursuit of power & control.

  • There are block filter lists for that too but they're not blocking website that engages in that behaviour more of the attempt-ish.

    It is preferable to use a hardware firewall (Eg. pfSense) to block them from occurring with intrusion detection/prevention system, as browser have their limitation.

    Public reasons behind this behaviour according to some oligarchs:

    • Fingerprinting to uniquely identify your machine for future reference.
    • Attempting to determine whether your machine is part of a botnet since botnets often use VNC services over various standard ports to control their bots.

    A German computer magazine (Heise) wrote about this observation and asked eBay for a statement.

    eBay's answer was:

    There is some widely spread software that is either Malware or legit software which can be misused to steal the eBay password. This software is listening on certain TCP ports.
    By trying to establish a connection to these TCP ports, the JavaScript of the eBay website tries to find out if such software is currently running.

    Now the question is, is it justifiable?
    Partially fingerprinting sure but to this extent No, it's data hoarding most likely to be sold to the highest bidders after all those come with vulnerable servers & infected users or for some personal endeavours (Which kind? Not an answer that I'm longing for it really).
    Nevertheless, you will have a lot of malicious actors that will gladly take advantage of this opportunity, so you better be using a hardware firewall (pfSense Highly recommended).

  • You could be dealing with a Spyware poisoning your search engine results or it's done on a large scale deep packet inspection on the networks you're using.

    In the meantime I recommend Searx, it's an open-source metasearch engine.

    Just to be clear Duckduckgo isn't at fault & always uses a VPN it's the least you can do to protect yourself online (If there are financial struggles ProtonVPN is a free & open source reliable alternative.).

  • More of just barks & make beliefs, the US system is doomed to no avail but here we are watching it all crumble.
    It will only get worse with the economic warfare, Repression/Regression/Chaos/Divide/Disorder.

    The 4th Reich is a fitting name, they keep destroying progressive movements from the inside anyway.
