Thanks, I hate it! (image description inside)
  • This thread is great. I love how people are arguing against deleting your Reddit history by comparing their own history to the content in the Library of Alexandria. The Reddit hive mind and subreddit echo chamber had a lasting effect, it seems.

  • Working on modlists more than playing
  • I've had to give up on EasyNPC. I try and try and try and I either get non-specific crashes, or, once I get it to finally compress into one mod, I'll end up with random face colorization issues, missing eye textures, or other weirdo glitches.

I love the idea of EasyNPC so much but I've had to set it aside and accept that I don't have the energy to master the arcane knowledge necessary to combine NPC overhauls. I wish they'd at least change the mod name to AdvancedNPC.

  • [Mod Shoutout] A Dog's Life
  • Nice. I recently discovered Styx, a companion wolf. The default is a spectral wolf but there's also an option for normal fur. She starts out as a puppy and will grow up as time goes on.

Having a little pup follow me around and howl everywhere is the cutest darn thing ever.

  • Goodnight, RIF
  • Thanks for everything. I can't believe how well made this app was, and I totally took it for granted. Now it's gone. Oh I, oh I, better learn how to face it, it's gone. I'd pay the devil to...sorry. Anyway, as an incurable insomniac, you were my in my hands for many, many, many late hours.

  • To the new users
  • Yep, been using Jerboa for the last week and it's just not clicking with me--things like search and account are not intuitive to find at all. Switched to Liftoff and it feels more like home RiF.

  • What are your skyrim confessions?
  • After years and years of playing and modding TES, I still have no idea what the whole "kill Nazeem" quest is or how to even start it.

I feel so guilty and shameful whenever I see a Nazeem meme.

And every time I bump into him in Whiterun I think to myself, 'how do I kill you?'

  • A list of community-vetted learning resources for modding newcomers. If you want a beginner's guide, I invite you to start here!
  • I have to ask though...for a novice modder, is DynDoLOD even necessary? There is an awful lot of pain and tears with your first couple of times, and personally I never thought it was worth it. There's been many a time where I've stood on a mountaintop, turned it on and off, and asked myself, 'is that it'?

  • Welcome to Skyrim Mods! Let's get this party started! What are your favorite must have mods?
  • Ooh my first Lemmy post.

I'll mention my new fave mod that I can't imagine living without from here on:

    Player Equipment Manager on Wheels.

This lets you quickly swap base outfits and add-ons to those outfits, complete with hotkeys and nifty menus. Everything about this mod just works, and it's pretty simple to get the hang of.
