Congratulations to Nepal. Though this ruling isn't perfect, it sets up a road to eventual full marriage equality, which is a really good thing. Hopefully other nations in the region soon follow, I'm happy to see news like this even as other nations backslide into more extreme conservatism.
It looks like that's a Voyager instance. Voyager is open source, so Lemmy instances are free to host a Voyager instance as an alternate frontend. The main Voyager instance can support any Lemmy instance, but here it's only for lemmy.world.
In all honesty, I can see your comments from lemm.ee. I wonder if lemmy.world is back up now.
Damn, hackers are being really uncool towards lemmy.world. Hopefully some good can come from this and they can implement robust security systems that help protect Lemmy instances from these types of attacks.
The app developer wanted a new and more serious name for the app and Voyager got the most support on a handful of community posts.
Just for reference, Voyager is the new name for the app that used to be called wefwef. As such, wefwef.app and vger.app are both pointing to the same thing.
A mixture of social conservatives voting against "wokeness," unrestricted guns rights and anti-abortion one-issue voters, and people that misguidedly believe the Republicans are better for the economy keep the party chugging along in elections.

Disgusting. DeSantis is obviously trying to create armed forces loyal only to him to do his bidding, which can only have disastrous consequences. The damage he would do to American institutions as president would be incalculable, and he would probably destroy foreign relations between the United States and every other country.
This isn't a state national guard, it's a state guard. According to the legislation that created it, the United States federal government has no jurisdiction over the new state guard and cannot nationalize it, meaning they are unable to control it like they can with a state national guard.
They were lying. They said they supported self-determination to throw out the existing laws, and with those laws gone they passed laws that enforced their morals, which was the ultimate end goal.

Unfortunate but predictable. Reddit and u/spez have decided that third-party apps are going to die, and nothing is going to stop them. The "talks" they were offering to interested devs were always just a show, as this clearly demonstrates.
Just to be clear, I don't mean to sound hopeless. There are things you can do that make life feel meaningful and to allow you to enjoy your time, I just mean that life can be tiring.
