Yet another reason why Mike Johnson is a terrible house speaker: "Mike Johnson fundraising email warns God may punish U.S. for 'collective sins'"
  • Republicans' credo is "the end justifies the means". They don't care what illegal immoral actions it takes as long as it gets done. Especially when it comes to getting everyone else deep throat christianity like they have. They will back every kid-diddler under the sun and believe the biggest lies as long as it means they dont have to pay some taxes or they can oppress someone.

  • There is an episode of The Dollup podcast about ninjas in 1800s (I think) Japan and in one part they talk about how the ninja would often have to wait around all day or more hiding to assassinate someone. They way they could tell how long they'd been waiting was by the change of the "dominant" nostril.

Apparently even when not stuffed up the air passes thru one nostril more easy than the other when you breathe. It switches about every 40 minutes.

  • What is your desired outcome here? Your replies make a strong case for your desire of the genocide of all Palestinians.

That's sick. You really need to take a good look inside yourself and figure yourself out if you are calling for a genocide.

  • Because allies do not always stay allies. And because the US is friends with another country it doesn't mean that country has a right to every single weapon in the arsenal. The US will offer protection, and back up their friends with military support.

  • The real goal of marketing isn't to make you buy you don't need but want, the goal is to make you believe that you need that item, bypassing want completely.

For instance, you need a monitor for a computer and marketing works to make you to not just need a monitor but to need the big monitor that's curved and is as wide as two normal monitors but costs 3x as much. Because you code and with special drivers only that monitor has it'll act like two separate monitors so you won't lose productivity of only having one.

People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?
  • Checking my mirrors, checking tire pressure, waiting for the on-screen button to become responsive so I can ok the dumb EULA on screen so I can use the infotainment unit, reconnecting bluetooth a few times because the phone and infotainment unit randomly choose to connect.
