Vom Jahr 2035 an soll in Europa ein Verbot von Verbrennermotoren greifen. Die Union will das Vorhaben auf EU-Ebene kippen. Das wird schwierig und spaltet die Autobranche.

Findet ihr das auch? Ich finde das Schwachsinn.
Habe mal aus strategischen Gründen geschaut - die LG hat auf Twitter lediglich ~100K follower, und auf anderen Kanälen ~1000. 0,3% in Deutschland wären 240K. Das spricht für mich dagegen, dass die LG es schafft und ich tendiere nun wirklich stark zu den Grünen.
Was viele auch nicht realisieren, ist dass unsere Wohlstandsblase vor allem aufgrund Importen/Exporten aus dem/in den Rest der Welt enstanden ist. Wenn diese Länder durch den Klimawandel hart betroffen sind, ist es auch schnell aus mit unserem Wohlstand.
Das Problem ist, dass so Atomkraftwerke locker 10-15 Jahre zum Hochziehen brauchen und pro Energieeinheit x-mal teurer ist als alle Alternativen, so dass keiner das schlucken will. Dann haben wir ja immer noch die radioaktiven Brennelemente ohne Endlager und das Risiko von Explosionen, vor allem wenn der Klimawandel zugreift (z.B. Fukushima). Auf keinen Fall!

EU-Wahl fürs Klima: Grüne, Klimaliste oder Letzte Generation?
Hallo zusammen,
am Sonntag ist ja Europawahl. Wie wohl inzwischen jeder Depp sehen kann, fliegt uns das Klima um die Ohren, daher ist meine 1. Priorität, mein Kreuz bei einer Partei zu setzen, die sich mit aller Macht für Klimaschutz einsetzt.
Nun frage ich mich, bei welcher der 3 "Klimaparteien" ich das Kreuz setzen sollte:
[ ] die Grünen
[ ] Klimaliste
[ ] Letzte Generation
Augenscheinlich "klimaliebende" Parteien wie Volt, die mit neoliberalem FDP-Sprech ankommen und die Atomkraft zurück wollen, oder die PIRATEN, welche eher Datenschutzspezis und keine Klimaspezis sind, lasse ich hier mal aus der Wahl raus.
Welche der drei genannten Parteien würde eurer Meinung nach den maximalen Impact in Bezug auf Klimaschutz haben?

Southern Germany hit by catastrophic flooding
The southern states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg have been inundated, causing dam bursts and prompting dramatic rescues. States of emergency have been declared in several areas with more heavy rain expected.
Germany is feeling one of the first consequences of climate change - regular catastrophic floodings. I don't have a master device as all. The house is from the 70's, and all our radiators were only manually adjustable valves (turn from 0 to 5). The wireless system just replaced having to hand-turn every radiator on and off daily. No master device was present at all.
Well, it doesn't have one, I'm currently using Honeywell devices which communicate wirelessly.
That seems to be it. Thanks. Too bad that doesn't seem usable without extensive wiring and is thus only an option for newly constructed houses.

The picture is from the wall of a newly built house in Arkansas, so I suspect it has to do something with "smart home".

Letzte Generation wäre auf jeden Fall mal eine interessante Wahl und zeigt unser Interesse an Klimathemen. Nicht vergessen, auch die etablierten Parteien richten sich bei ihrer Politik danach aus, mehr Stimmen zu bekommen, selbst wenn die Letzte Generation nicht genug Stimmen für einen Einzug ins Parlament bekommen sollte.

I think the biggest challenge will be to standardize the scraping process since databases for audiovisual content are very differently structured. Will probably require database-by-database API access/negotiations so that you know how their databases are structured - completely FOSS audiovisual content databases are rare.
I was referring to that you could take ideas regarding UX/UI from it.

This German video showcases nicely the consequences of climate change. Why people don't realize worldwide that we need to reduce CO2 NOW to prevent it from getting even worse is an open question.
The good afterlife is only available to them if they have been "good people" while alive, and dying early is not being a "good person". Also, after their death, they supposedly get "judged", and everybody is going to worry about the X number of "sins" that they did during their life that might end them up in hell.

Just 10 years ago, landlords could ban you from putting solar cells on your balcony because it makes their building look "messy". Now Germany is really pushing forward to let everybody put solar modules on their balcony with these new laws. How is legalization of balcony solar cells in your country? Is setting up solar modules on your balcony easy or difficult law-wise?
German renewable energy: lack of network expansion
Although Germany has massively invested into green energy, the issue is that the electric network has not been sufficiently expanded. This means that solar and wind energy has to be turned off to not overload the network. However, the owners of solar/wind energy still get paid. This means that in Germany, the price of energy will only make up ~50% of the bill. The other 50% are payments for unused energy (to not overload the network) and costs for expanding the electric network (because some regions such as Bavaria refuse to have wind turbines or solar panels "because they look ugly", but still need electric). Lesson: When implementing renewable energy in the rest of the world, we have to keep in mind that we have to massively invest into the electric network as well or it won't work.
