Season 45 finale!

We are enjoying the finale so far! Pretty good season but not as many silly people as season 44. Poor Jake has had a hard time. I was so happy when he succeeded at fire making.

What system or method do you use for your monthly budget or personal finance?
  • 20% off the paychecks directly to registered retirement account. Use a cashback credit card for everything, pay it off every paycheck, and watch carefully that the balance doesn't exceed what you can pay off. This is key, never pay card interest. Nice hefty reward from that every year. For things that can't be charged to the card, annualized payment from a high interest savings account which I replenish every paycheck just enough to ensure all the annual payments can be drawn when the times come, all tracked with a spreadsheet for each bill. Extra goes in there for emergency funds, avoids paying interest when unexpected costs come up.

  • Preferred guided wave radar
  • We use them to measure level. They shoot microwave energy pulses down a probe and a very precise clock is used to determine how long it takes to receive echoes back from the interface we are trying to measure. The echoes are created whenever a pulse encounters an interface with a change in dielectric properties (e.g., air/water interface). The longer it takes to receive the echo after a pulse is sent, the farther the interface is from the instrument.

What is everyone's preferred brand for guided wave radar? We have used lots of Vega

Do you have a diabetic cat/dog?
  • We switched our cat from dry to wet food when he became diabetic years ago, and he quickly recovered. No more insulin. Not special expensive wet food either, just the stuff from Costco.
