TGIF, what are your plans for the week-end?
  • Thankfully, not a lot going on this weekend. Getting my taxes done tomorrow afternoon, but that shouldn’t take long so I should have a lovely weekend of mostly doing nothing of significance to anyone.

  • Elon Musk sues OpenAI and Sam Altman, accusing them of chasing profits
  • Company exists to make money. In other news, water is wet. More at 5.

  • Best Amiibo Ever.
  • Kitty!

  • These Cities Aren’t Banning Meat. They Just Want You to Eat More Plants. Meat and dairy production are linked to emissions of methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
  • And if you force me to eat more fiber, I’ll be the one making more methane emissions. I do love me some beans, but I can only take so much!

  • Burger chain Wendy's looking to test surge pricing at restaurants as early as next year
  • It won’t when it’s $20 for just the burger.

  • Wendy's is introducing Uber style surge pricing.
  • Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

  • SteamWorld Build underperformed, says publisher Thunderful
  • And not even a particularly great city builder at that.

  • How do you deal with the bottom sheet on your bed?
  • Maybe it’s just because I live in Texas and it’s 80 degrees outside in February, but I pretty much exclusively use that sheet. Blanket only ever covers my feet.

  • Carmakers are failing to deliver affordable electric cars, holding back EV adoption | Disproportionate focus of manufacturers on large SUVs and premium models means we have too few mass-market cars.
  • Meanwhile most people can’t afford the payments or even get a car loan in the first place, much less cough up thousands for a new car.

  • Car insurance prices surge
  • Maybe the solution is to instead re-educate everyone on how to drive in such a manner as to consider the traffic behind them.

  • Opinion | Why Don’t We Just Ban Fossil Fuels?
  • The entire industry employs a great number of people. It’s not so simple to just ban all fossil fuels (even if it is what we need to do) and leave millions out of work. Think of how many industries rely on fossil fuels as well, just to move things or people around. All those jobs go bye-bye overnight too.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t ban fossil fuels, but the fallout from doing so needs to be addressed before it becomes a problem in the first place.

  • How far can cities go to clear homeless camps? The U.S. Supreme Court will decide
  • Oh, they’ll have a job in prison, too. They just won’t get paid to do it.

  • Texas nationalists rage at power grid plans
  • As a Texan, I believe we could use a lot more of the Federal Government intervening in our state affairs.

  • Texas nationalists rage at power grid plans
  • As an American in Texas, I strongly support you not egging on these fucks that want to ruin MY HOME even more than they already are. The repuglicunts have been in power for 30 years and have drug this state down into the dirt with them.

  • What thing do you love that you can never get anyone else to check out?
  • Gloryhammer comes to mind immediately. Battle Beast, too. And offshoots like Brothers of Metal and Unleash the Archers.

  • What thing do you love that you can never get anyone else to check out?
  • There’s so much good stuff nowadays.

  • What thing do you love that you can never get anyone else to check out?
  • Power metal. Most people seem to think it’s too cheesy.

  • What's your favorite song?
  • Probably ‘Surrender’ by Billy Talent.
