Suggestion for "endgame" 75% with volume knob
  • Lots of entry- to mid-level options (Zoom75 will have extras available pretty soon, MKC75 is currently in group buy, Monsgeek M1 in stock in some configs) but none off the top of my head in the high-end space

  • Blizzard’s bringing its PC games to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2
  • Not to sound doom gloomy here, but my reasons for ditching Blizzard games were absolutely not the launcher. I don't think I'll be going back to Overwatch or anything else in their portfolio because of my issues with game development/marketing (PvE in OW2 promises vs. reality, Warcraft 3 Reforged debacle, etc.).

That said, for anyone who still is up on Blizzard properties, having platform choice is always nice. I still play a ton of Apex Legends and love that it's available via Steam rather than just EA's launcher, for example.

  • Why did Vic Fontaine sang entire songs in the later seasons of DS9?
  • Man can you imagine Nog and/or Rom getting half the character development that they got in DS9 in a contemporary show format?

Not saying it's all bad or all good one way or another, but your comment made me think back and totally appreciate those two fleshed out minor characters

For real though, wtf happened with that mic drop reveal. Not that I'm complaining; I don't feel particularly excited to learn about another previously-unheard-of Spock sibling.

Then again, the amount of times Sarek's name was dropped in this episode is probably a clear breadcrumb that this storyline is coming sooner than later.

My first time seeing this; delightful term hahah

I also can't agree enough with your observation about the human side as a lens through which to understand Spock and how he relates to those around him. Double points for noting the lack of quippiness in the vein of "Are we sure we want to fix him?" I hate that I need to praise that kind of restraint in TV / movie writing these days but, well, here we are.

As for my original contribution here:

I realllly liked the fact that while I'm sure I'm not alone in shipping TF out of Spock and Chapel, I feel like this episode went to decently robust character exploration such that the ending bit felt a lot less tacked on, or a writer's wink "for the shippers". A lot of that IMO rests on Spock's monologue at the end of the dinner. For just another layer of appreciation of that character moment.

  • lemmy.ml is no longer shadowbanning kbin.
  • ...then far as I'm concerned, they can ride it back out of here wet.

This was the most anachronistic American Southwestern burn I've yet seen on any internet comment thread to date. I can nearly hear the spitoon at the end.

I know it sounds like I'm making fun of it, but I genuinely am not. Marvelous

  • This sent me on an interesting thought tangent: if we were talking on Reddit or, like, Facebook where anybody with a pulse could register and start shitposting then the quandary you propose makes a ton of sense. But with Fediverse, there are certainly more hoops to jump through to get to a post like this and leave a comment, right?

All of which is to ask if it's right to presume malice here rather than ignorance given the comparative barrier to entry? I vote malicious parody of one.
