does anybody around here play fighting games?
  • It's hard to get into them if you don't have a friend there to explain things and help you. The guy who taught me how to play and got me started was like super diamond in SF5 and beat me with almost any character in any game. I beat his main team in Dragonball FighterZ once and it was the highlight of me playing lol.

  • I liked Tekken 7, but didn't have anyone to play with really. My favorite artistic style is the French Bread fighting games. Their characters are pretty stand out too.

Currently don't have my hotbox, so i can't be grinding out combo trials and trying to figure out which character i vibe with most in SF6

  • What's something cool that you've made?
  • Thank you! I tried different things with each one. The only thing similar between them is that two have wooden cases, and two have the same switches because kailh deep sea silent tactile a are sooooo good!!!

  • Well.... Some are more for the shelf because I'm already a LotR nerd. I only have two copies of the trilogy, the hobbit, Beren and Lúthien, The simllmarillion, and Tales from the Perilous Realm.... I needed more Tolkien things to show off lol.

  • how’s your week going, Beehaw
  • Honestly, finding this place has been the highlight of my month! This week has been crazy busy at work. About 4 different projects all started going on at once on top of my normal work load and it's been a bit draining. But, i put in for a couple vacation days a month ago and am going to be spending it at a friend's doing lán parties and just general hanging out.

I hope all y'all's is going well! Or will soon be!

  • My creeping thyme is flowering!
  • I've seen it in a lot of home improvement stores around spring time and early summer. There are two types that i know of. One is shorter and doesn't flower as much. Another is slightly taller and grows spires of purple flowers! I think there is a color difference in the leaves too (one being lighter green and one darker), but I'm not 100% on that as I am colorblind and it could be my memory playing tricks on me on that one.

  • Just finished Death Stranding, such an interesting and unique experience.
  • Honestly, i looked them up after starting the game and have enjoyed what I've heard. They are strange, but in a mesmerizing way. Truly a band that is about the art in the music and not about trying to follow music trends. Would recommend.

  • Growing up, my mom always put adjuga in the flowerbeds as a ground cover. I absolutely adore it because it's much more pleasant to look at than mulch or dirt. It spreads rather quick and can be transplanted as easy as pulling some up by the roots and placing it on some dirt. Notuch more attention needed.

I have some in my flowerbeds that was here when i bought my house. I really need to find the time to address my flowerbeds... One of these days...

  • Tabletop: world building, homebrew, and design
  • I like playing things that aren't typical or really useful in some ways. I just want the experience to be unique and fun. What are some of the non-attack builds that you have thought about and/or tried that really stuck out for you?

I'm a huge fan of flavor>>>>>usefulness. My current character has a self imposed fault that causes me to roll wisdom saves when I use fire spells from my top two spell slots. If I fail, I get disadvantage on all mental stats and advantage on all physical. It hasn't happened much yet. Mainly when a friend is being dangerously hurt. Then my guy gets a little heated and burns spells at high level and faces the consequences, but it is worth it at the time.

  • Tabletop: world building, homebrew, and design
  • I'm not doing anything other than character building for my current DnD game. At one point, I was playing both Pathfinder and 5e at the same time and realized just how bad 5e defined grappling. I spent a couple of weeks in my free time coming up with a way to define what you can do while grappled/grappling in 5e. I tried to make it more viable of a playstyle while not making it too broken. Sadly, I never got to actually playtest it with a group as we were swapping people around for DMing so they could all get a taste of it and none were experienced enough to allow for the playtest.

I would be more than happy to share some about what I had done, I would just need to find the document. I would really love the idea of a character that is a bar brawler that just grapples and throws people around!

  • Reddit mods are organizing blackouts to protest against API changes
  • Yeah, it's exciting to see things differently. Especially since, for the moment, things are a bit smaller here. I'm liking the idea of everything so far. Perhaps the app needs a few things added. Most definitely, I have a lot to learn!

  • Have not messed around with the app much yet and didn't know it would show up at all based off of my cursory glances so far. I mentioned in another comment that I was wondering if it could be set so that I only see Beehaw and not lemmy.ml so I could hop between the locations at will. Maybe in a future update in the app!

Update: I poked around the app a bit more. I didn't notice that in the login screen, the instance menu could scroll. It looked like it perfectly held the fours it originally showed. I was short on time when i originally looked and didn't try scrolling there because of how nicely it fit. Figured i would update this in case others could use the info.
