Fishing spots in Atlanta?
  • Coming back with an update after a few trips and planning.

I've gone out a handful of times since this post. Still have caught nothing. Haven't even had anything on my line. This is all fine by me - I'm new to freshwater fishing and it's a great time to just sit back and feed fish lol.

But, along my journey, I've picked up two useful resources:

    1. Georgia's Department of Wildlife has an app to review a lot of information on fishing, hunting, etc. The app isn't perfect, but offers lots of handy information. https://georgiawildlife.com/outdoors-ga-app
    2. Fishbrain app is pretty cool and more refined to show you what fellow anglers in your area are catching, recommending, boasting about and more. Although it's good, they sell (hard) their subscription model to the service. I understand, but doesn't change the fact it's annoying and I don't fish that often. https://fishbrain.com/
  • AT&T and Verizon’s ancient lead cables have US lawmakers demanding action
  • The title says "US Lawmakers demanding action"... But, outside of going Schoolhouse Rock turning a bill into a law, there's nothing they can really do...

    Right?

    Fishing spots in Atlanta?

I recently stopped in to Thompson Park in Cobb county and noticed it had a catch and release pond. Reminded me that fishing is a childhood joy of mine. Now, I'd like to introduce my kids to it as well. But I grew up in South Florida and I don't know jack about fishing in Georgia. Let alone any ideal places to try.

Do you have any fishing spot recommendations for the metro area, especially on the east side of town? Doesn't need to be anything fancy or the world's greatest spot. Just a spot to have some good ol fishing fun.
