Reddit mods are calling for an ‘affordable return’ for third-party apps
  • Why would any third party dev want to return after Reddit so thoroughly killed any trust they have?

  • Reddit mods are calling for an ‘affordable return’ for third-party apps
  • Why would third party apps return? Reddit has lost their trust in a manner that I can't see them recovering.

  • Reddit admins removing the NSFW tags from subs with porn in them
  • It's an ongoing shit show, and given the migration, it does affect us. So it is worthwhile to keep an eye on it.

Plus, many of us Reddit refugees cared about the communities we participated in. Even if we don't care for Reddit as a company anymore, we do care about the communities we left behind.

  • Reddit admins removing the NSFW tags from subs with porn in them
  • Thanks. I hate that they're real.

  • Reddit CEO tells employees that subreddit blackout “will pass”
  • Two days isn't significant enough to register as a real change. Especially since I assume most advertisers have ongoing contracts based on longer periods.

If you want to see an actual revenue impact, the blackout has to go long enough that advertisers have time to start scaling back or even withdrawing from the platform.

  • That's why the blackout really needs to be indefinite.

    Got any specific questions?

  • /r/Conservative is going to save Reddit
  • Well, Reddit the Community. Reddit the Company clearly doesn't approve of the blackout.

  • /r/Conservative is going to save Reddit
  • Pretty sure they figure it's all the "Leftist Libtard" subs going dark and so, yeah, they're gonna be congrarian to that. And, at the core, the blackout is about sharing tools to produce a more inclusive community. And that's the sort of thing /r/conservative is staunchly against. So it makes sense they'd go out of their way to go contrary to that.

  • Chronic pain
  • So far, so good.

  • Chronic pain
  • Oof! Yeah, here's to tomorrow.

  • Introduction
  • I just want to say, "Hi."

My interest in this community stems from having a stutter, depression, and social anxiety. I also work in web development and am always interested in learning more about web accessibility. For the most part, my conditions don't affect my ability to use the web, so I always feel like there's lots of room to grow there. (Too bad the folks at Reddit don't care much about that. Looking forward to the blackout.)

  • Reddit experimenting with blocking mobile browsers
  • Ridiculous that this has gone under the radar.

  • Reddit now says it will allow free API access for developers of accessibility apps
  • Stickied comment here is what /r/Blind, one of the most prominent fighters for the accessibility features, has to say about it.

    They weren't even invited.

  • Reddit now says it will allow free API access for developers of accessibility apps
  • How do they define "accessibility app". It sounds like almost every third party app is more accessible than the official app. So they're all addressing accessibility needs.

  • What daily games, like Wordle, do you play regularly?
  • Oh, yeah. I remember that now. My parents and I use Android phones, but my brother uses an iPhone. Was trying to get all of them to get the game, but my brother couldn't get it.

    Sorry about that
