Thank you!
Also like that the iOS app privacy section says:

Stick with it if you give it a go, the main character can be… frustrating… at the beginning but there is proper character growth as the series goes on
Don’t forget prodigy, I know it’s a kids/family show but definitely worth watching.
Absolutely agree - this is exactly my issues with Season 4 as well.
Look at how SWN did things as an alternative, they were able to have characters talk about their feelings in a much more natural way during down time.. not in the middle of the action while there is an end of the universe ticking clock.
Thanks for posting this! I’m looking forward to the new series!
That’s disappointing… I think…. It’s complicated.
Childcare costs are extremely high and even with higher earning families it’s not something that can be done lightly… full time nursery is easily the equivalent of a 2nd mortgage (if not more!)
I wonder what the research says about families that don’t qualify for this sort of help - does it lead to women disproportionally leaving the workforce? I’d be surprised if it doesn’t
Are we okay with that? Isn’t in the interest of societies to encourage a fair balance across all groups so women don’t find that their careers inevitably suffers more than men.
On the other hand is it societies responsibility to help fund high earners so they can have the “privilege” of both parents working? It does leave a bad taste providing financial support to those who already earn plenty of money……
but we wouldn’t think for a second of means testing NHS or more relevant to this discussion - state education from the age of 5 (at least I hope we wouldn’t). Is it such a leap to extend the free “state education” to lower ages?
Sounds great! Looking forward to it being released
You’ve captured my own confusing and conflicting thoughts as well.
I have so far loved my experience here (just been a few days) beehaw is exactly what is what to see in an online community
But despite the federated nature of lemmy the code ultimately is (so I’m learning in this thread!) currently in the hands of people who are the opposite of beehaw. That’s a difficult pill to swallow.
It’s a pretty common turn of phrase that describes the pricing pretty well. It’s common in the UK at least don’t know about elsewhere in the world.
Codenames is a great one, I’m also a fan of Articulate plus we recently(ish) played a game of “Pictionary Air” which was a whole load of fun.
In future you may look back and see this as an important turning point in your life that you’d never want to change.
I switched out from my original degree and went into an entirely different field and if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have anything like the life I’ve got now.
We’ve got our 2nd on the way so Rusty looking out for his little sister really got me. Loved this episode.
Bluey S03E47 - Cricket
>During a friendly game of neighbourhood cricket, the dads struggle to bowl Rusty out.
Just watched this Bluey episode with my 2.5 year old and thought I’d post to see if there was anyone else here has watched it.
If any show encapsulates the Beehaw ethos of kindness it’s this one!
Happy to be here. Good timing with SNW starting back up again this week.
Just a thought though: Traditionally Daystrom (and the other ST subreddits) had no spoiler rules.
As we don’t have the same sort of tools to temporarily filter keywords or group communities rather than subscribe etc perhaps we could try to be a bit spoiler conscious (at least for the very latest new episode) - give people a chance to catch up.

Hello Worlds
That’s great, just subscribed.
Here’s the link formatted so people from different instances can easily click through and subscribe: ntfy
Just curious - what sort of keywords would you be filtering out if you could?
Agree with this - I live in the UK where home AC is rare, the summers are just getting hotter and hotter though. I don’t regret for a second buying a portable AC for those nights where it just really is too hot. Absolutely worth it.
Alternative for those who don’t have $1k+ and a whole load of shelf space: Kiwix - You can download an offline copy of Wikipedia.
It’s actually quite useful when/if you go traveling or live near low-signal areas. Can get a copy on your phone for quick reference for pretty much anything.
Yes - one of the Mlem devs said that it was being worked on and should be in the beta soon
Thanks for linking to that, I hadn’t seen that article before. Interesting seeing it broken down like that and being able to search for a website to see if it was part of the training data
