RetroHitch RetroHitch @kbin.social

Hey guys I am RetroHitch. I stream on Twitch from real hardware and input in many communities, discords etc or in general on the Retro Gaming scene from Twitch.

I stream from: https://www.twitch.tv/retrohitch

I made https://kbin.social/m/zxspectrum as a replacement for reddit after the recent crap that has gone down there and stopped using it completely now so any posts on Spectrum from me shall be in here.

What app is everyone using for Lemmy
  • When i say whitespace i just mean the generic amount of empty space not the opposite of dark mode :)

I tried it, i fiddled with options but kbin just feels better for me and is easier to fit for me as a reddit replacement than the others. Lemmy is def a 2nd choice though, the rest are all awful.

  • Ok this works well for me. Easy to read and navigate. Perhaps try again, maybe they fixed it.

  • testing myself in a second... lets see

  • Tried lemmy and hated all that whitespace, kinda reminded me why I dislike normal reddit and always used old.reddit instead. So yeah, im a kbiner :)

  • Cheers for the reply. i will do this for now.

  • As a kbin user do these apps work for that or not? I chose kbin because i prefer the web UX.

  • 46 Hours to go and counting. Its nearly there, the best modern built (and old IMO) Retro Joystick that out of the box works on ZX Spectrum (via Kempston), Amiga, Classic Atari Computers and Consoles,
  • @magicknight different pin layouts for atari and msx etc. Many people plugged Megadrive pads in Amigas too and just got lucky they didnt add voltage to the mainboard.

Atari pin layout is the main one so fits most.

Its nearly there, the best modern built (and old IMO) Retro Joystick that out of the box works on ZX Spectrum (via Kempston), Amiga, Classic Atari Computers and Consoles, Amstrad CPC, C64, Sega Master System and far more with an adaptor including MSX. Fully featured with button for up toggle and autofire toggle. Solid metal casing and excellent parts inside from Sanwa and the like.

Check the video and maybe you will fancy it.

Not affiliated with it just want it to finish as I truly think its the best out there by miles.

Can some one explain how the microblog feature works.
  • Can you get rid of the microblog section in your own personal kbin? i.e. cookie setting, something. I know will say why and i just dislike it and find it messy. To me I use this as a reddit styled service. I really don't care about the mastadon side.

  • RG35XX - This is amazing!
  • Yup, great device. Got one myself and promptly persueded a bunch of mates to do the same as I kept ranting about it. Was never really a handheld guy despite being a retro guy but I adore this and its used daily. GarlicOS just makes it even better.

    Gratz dude.

  • A small FAQ to hopefully help new users to kbin (updated June 11 17:00 GMT)
  • As i only really want a new reddit I would love to hide the blog section too.

  • Are we gonna make a big difference after this migration?
  • Honestly, no, not a chance in hell. But I left anyway for my sake in the hope something new comes along. I dont think this is it, but maybe in the future. I think if you leave, do it for you not to make a change. If change happens then great, it not you can stay sane :)

  • Thoughts on BattleBit Remastered?
  • Enjoyed it myself, not normally a fan of that type of game and for PVP i tend to play Siege. This I enjoyed a lot though, a few of us joined up together and it was reliable, had decent gunplay and was fun. I am a little concerned about cheating though. Whilst it has anti-cheat there were some definite suspect moments for me.
