Does nobody check the permission requirements before installing the app that quite literally steals all their data. Like every data tracking option including “other” is selected by the app, it’s so invasive they cannot launch in Europe, but people are choosing to install it?
cool. They’ve updated, my bad. I don’t use them and have not seen an advert in years. Inside or outside my browser.
Ive been using DNS filtering for years and many sites actually collapse the advert space when it’s not used, and while a plug-in certainly can improve the UI, the DNS blocking also disables the resulting tracking, the network requests still happen with the plugins.
Additionally DNS filtering happens outside of a browser as well, so will block ads in literally every app as well, when setup correctly it’s also device independent.
When I still ran my own PiHole, there where days where as much as 60% of the traffic was adverts and trackers.
DNS filtering also extends to blocking things like malware and spam domains
I’m gone, I blocked Reddit on my firewall, it’s inaccessible from my home network or any of my personal devices. I’ve also added uBlacklist to all my browsers to exclude them from search results.
As far as I’m concerned, that site no longer exists.
With almost no difficulty at all.

Personally, I don't care if I see them, but if I am unable to post about it without adding a spoiler warning then I simply won't. For me knowing a thing does not spoil experiencing said thing, but I am also not going go online and actively start looking ahead, there is a definite benefit in the unknown.

I just finished the demo and OMG, I actually regret it cause it was that awesome and it’s 5 days till I can hopefully play, busy week ahead with work.
The Callisto Protocol story DLC got its release date and will even be exclusive to PlayStation consoles for a limited time.
I definitely heard about some of the Jedi issues, but I had 1 crash in my entire 20+ hour fidelity play through. No hiccups, glitches, stutters or anything.
Al lot of what I heard was things like frame drops, but fidelity is capped at 30FPS, I much prefer to play a game at its best looking as I am some strange mutant of a creature that has absolutely no perception of frame rate.
I could not, and still cannot tell the difference between my 60 and 120hz iPhones. My 120hz Mac is connected to a 60hz external and I can see the difference in colours, but that’s about it.
I suppose it’s possible I may have had some of those issues and and was just completely oblivious to it.
Hogwarts I also quite enjoyed, some thing got a bit repetitive, but that had was less with the story and more with the trophies, and that’s a trophy side effect with many games, but I enjoyed it enough for it to be the first game I actually cared slough to platinum.
I’ve actually only ever backed 1 kickstarter and got the thing, but ya I’d probably never do it again. This was back way before they got the reputation of being a great way to pay for an illusion.
Why? I’ve preordered all my recent games. Not getting this one, not a fan of the game style, I’ll play it when it’s either cheap or free.
I preorder GOW, Hogwarts Legacy, Jedi Survivor and Burning shores recently and enjoyed them all, got FF16 on PO now as well.
Honestly, leave them, those who are happy to be called worthless, deserve to stay on Reddit, it’s not like the CEO has been silently insulting them, he’s literally taking a press tour telling everyone who will listen just how little he thinks if he’s users.
Whomever stays after that has absolutely no self worth and sees their entire life’s value in Reddit.
Don’t let their meaningless existence have any impact on your life, all you would be doing is encoring them, you’d be giving them the attention they are soo desperately seeking.
Not surprising, but there are still many ways it can go, even forcing them open may not do anything if the community remains angry, and he’s doing a grate job of trying to put the fire out with a fuel tanker.
