2023 British GP [RACE] discussion thread
  • I'm gonna need a replay of Norris' defence against Hamilton. That was imo the best racing we got this year so far.

  • Well deserved indeed. I'm so happy for him and Piastri right now.

  • I'm so happy I was wrong here

  • Yes! DoTD for me (and not just because I'm a fan)!

  • I can't believe how good Lando is defending himself against Hamilton... Impressive!

  • Exactly! Hamilton is on softs, I feel like he will overtake Lando after restart...

  • I don't think giving McLarens hard tires is a good idea... They're trying to play it too safe.

  • They must be reading Lemmy, because it's fixed now :D

  • As Lando's fan, this race is a joy to watch (so far)

  • Switch 2: Studio has supposedly received the development kit
  • I just want back-compatibility with 1st Switch. It's a Nintendo console, so I don't expect lots of horsepower. I think because of current Switch's lack of power Nintendo was able output loads of great games to their system. Like their studios didn't need to spend a whole generation just to make one game, unlike what we are seeing on other consoles.

  • Say "goodbye" to cookies and cookie banners with vanilla Firefox
  • Wow, good to know that it's built right into the browser itself.

I was using extension called "I don't care about cookies" or something like that. But I will try this built-in solution.

  • lemmy apps you should try and experiment with
  • Same here, Baconreader was my go-to Reddit app... it will be so heart-breaking to uninstall this :(

  • What made you pick the Lemmy server you are on?
  • I chose Lemmy.world, because it was the one I was hearing the most about. It's a bit slow at the moment, but that's not surprising, given the amount of new users. So far it's been fun. I really hope more and more people show up!

  • I'm trying out Summit now and it's quite good. But I don't think it has a list of communities that I'm subscribed to and I can only choose to either see all posts from my "subreddits" or all from my instance/federation. Apart from that it's good.

  • Are you still enjoying F1 this season?

Just curious. I started watching F1 back when DTS started airing (so during Hamilton's domination). It was fun, even though results were often predictable (HAM-BOT-VER).

Then there was this awesome season when Max got his 1st WDC title. It was the most fun I ever had with any sport ever.

But now? I still watch races, but, I won't lie, it's getting less and less exciting. I noticed that F1 is no longer a huge talking-point in my friend's group, as there is just less going on. Max has so huuuge advantage, that it feels like all that sport magic is gone.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you still watching races every rawe ceek? Do you still feel engaged in F1 community?
