Under the latest Hakim video. Always great when someone criticises Hakim for being wrongly confident while being the most wrongly confident person on earth themselves.
  • Socialist Yugoslavia. The difference with current leftover republics is incredible. What used to be a happy and secure place for the people, where they didn't have to worry about their future or current existential problems, now turned into a poor, depressing capitalist hellscape, where most of the people are stressed out, insecure, depressed and angry. It's literally the remnants of socialist Yugoslavia policies, like the free-housing, that keeps the people's head above the water.

  • As someone who lived in socialism and now have pretty decent living standard in a capitalist country with one of the highest standards of living in the world, I can tell you I enjoyed socialism far more. Even at the worst of times.

There is something special about not seeing a homeless person ever in your life, then visiting supposedly rich capitalist countries and being shocked by all the people suffering in the streets.

  • "you cant be communist cuz you wealthy"
  • Take heart, Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the PRC, came from wealthy privileged class.

Nikita Khrushchev: “I am the son of coal miners, you are the descendant of feudal mandarins. We have nothing in common.”

Zhou Enlai: "Perhaps we do, we are both traitors to our class.”

  • Banned from r/communism101
  • I once posted a slightly lib article on how an idiot ancap CEO of Sears ran the company to the ground with dumb libertarian ideas and also some Chomsky's critique of US imperialism. Got perma banned the next day...

I mean, I thought we should be intelligent enough to read lib sources if they offer some kind of valuable insight and just filter out useless lib opinions, bad takes ourselves...I guess I was wrong lol.
