After Democrats lost the working class, union leaders say it's time to 'reconstruct the Democratic Party'
  • Slavery, segregation, the Dixiecrats, the Democratic Party wasn't even the "good" one for most of the time it's been around (and arguably wasn't even even definitely "the" good one until like 40 years ago.

  • Embrace the nerddom
  • N who wore

    Just stop

  • But thats all Dan Harmon
  • Who doesn't recognize Zizek on sight?

  • After Democrats lost the working class, union leaders say it's time to 'reconstruct the Democratic Party'
  • I think its time to deconstruct it tbh. Name's tainted and "neither" has been the most popular candidate for the past 3 election cycles now. People are itching for a new party to support that doesn't make them feel like their vote is worthless

  • Is AI progress stuck?
  • We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road

  • Would there be any merit in the idea of NATO waging a "benevolent war" (for lack of a better term) against Ukraine?
  • NATO isn't an army, it's a defense pact. Member countries can't just launch an attack against a non-member country (especially to "protect" said non-member).

  • If a leftist ran for president, would liberals support him?
  • I think it's fair to say that ~80% of voters will just follow whatever their party's media outlets say they should vote for. If a proper leftist and actually got the DNC nomination, I don't think many classic liberals would think twice about voting for them.

  • Would leaf Springs for my 2007 Toyota Tundra from RockAuto or General Spring be as good as the OEM parts the mechanic says he would get?
  • If it were anything but a Toyota, I'd say to avoid the OEM premium, but I'd get it in this case. But not from a mechanic, either. You can almost certainly find then for a lower price and install yourself. Leaf springs are like 3 bolts

  • ‘The intellectual dark web just won the election!’: meet the coalition of Joe Rogan, RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard and Elon Musk
  • Imagine calling a a guy who owns a .com and another dude whose podcast is exclusive to the largest audio streaming service in the world "the dark web."

  • Any suggestions on what to do about the USA election? (I'm very left, fair warning)
  • If you don't own a gun yet, buy one ASAP because it's going to get a lot harder for people like you in the coming years

  • People outside the US, how do you feel US expats or exiles would do in your country or region?
  • You would literally lose your job and social life in the US if you said this in America about immigrants lol

  • Go get your gun and brownshirt then Rambo

  • Throw the gates wide open
  • Cute but this is one degree removed from "shy away from everything that challenges you."

"The all of nothing mentality is not healthy," but you can learn and try to do more (and fail) without beating yourself up, too, and you should want to grow.

  • Do normal people mute the ads or just let the television keep going?
  • Use a DNS adblocker on your router and mobile network. 10x easier than it sounds. I haven't seen an ad on my screen that I didn't want in years.

  • You are not one of the good guys

  • Does anyone use in-sink garbage disposals anymore?
  • Part of my job is appliance installation and it's about a 50/50 chance on whether or not new homes include them

  • keep it in private
  • Anything east of the Atlantic coast is British

  • Yes

    www.core77.com The Owlet: A New Form Factor for the E-Bike - Core77

While I think the aesthetics are slightly wonky, this Owlet is an interesting design departure for the e-bike form factor: It's sort of like, if you were in a manufacturing facility and wanted to make a bike, but didn't have access to the right materials.
