no extremism rule
  • I don't trust anyone making a big deal out of stalin. He was a pretty boring politician at the end of the day. The only thing they did that got him the reputation was be the face of the cold war and target of a fuck ton of anti-Soviet (coming from American Nazis, naturally) propaganda. They flat out made up shit about him even though, before the cold war, Life magazine literally did an article on him rizzing the USSR up as a bastion of democratic virtue. Case in point: a lot of the genuinely fucked up shit that happened in the USSR was Lenin, yet you never hear a peep about him.

It's either people buying into cold war propaganda and saying he's a bad guy, or people buying into cold war propaganda and saying "actually we like the bad things he did"

  • Because they turned themselves from a shithole nation into a world superpower practically overnight. The odds were super stacked against them and if it wasn't for them collapsing under their own contradictions (and a boatload of pressure from fascism worldwide) they would still be one today. Like obviously there's a lot of stuff I eeeeh at, but when you consider the hand they were given, they played one hell of a game.

The one reason everyone either loves or hates them all boils down to the fact they ended the nazis. Hence why all anticommunists are fascists.

  • Anticommunism is indistinguishable from pro-fascism. Source: Decades on the internet. I once gave a guy a chance just to see what would happen and about a month later learned that they were involved in a pedophile ring. Yeah, pretty much.

On the other end, just because anticommunism is pro-fascism doesn't mean they're beyond criticism. This is Russia's playbook. You gotta bash the fash regardless of where it comes from, especially when it comes from inside.

  • Trump NDAs Scrapped: Hundreds Of 2016 Campaign Staffers Can Now Publicly Criticize Him As Court Finalizes Settlement
  • NDAs are the biggest crock of shit ever and should be made universally null and void, yes, even in cases where they're valid. What the fuck is the point of having freedom of speech if someone can just coerce/threaten/force you to into signing it away?

  • Is this how Sealand was formed too?
  • Yes it me again, and I'm going to continue calling out problematic shit when I see it. Silencing tactics don't work on me because i'm morally in the right and know it. This combined with your reaction to my other post proves that your siding with nazism goes more than passive and i'm not going to just sit around and watch as you influence the culture of Lemmy towards fascism.

  • Defederation from Lemmygrad.ml
  • The fact you have people who genuinely think you guys are a free speech zone should be a very alarming sign you're becoming a bit of a nazi bar. You need to make these people feel unwelcome, and you need to do it fast.
