Fitness App Help
  • Edit to original post: I’m an idiot. LoseIt! Does automatically track with the apps across the devices. It was just taking a moment to update from my iWatch to my iPhone and then to the app since it will only count one device (to avoid double counting). And when it did update, I didn’t realize that I was looking at the wrong day lol

  • This may sound stupid, but how do I add/join that community? I’m on Mlem (the only app I could find that worked quickly) and I thought I had it figured out. Joined a few. But I cannot find c/CICO in the communities.

I tried MyFitnessPal a few years ago and really liked it, but the higher price point kept me away. And the basic version just didn’t have enough. I may bite the bullet and just upgrade one of them though.

I do love LoseIt! but I didn’t want to buy the full version without knowing more. I hate yearly subscriptions because I always feel like I’m gonna pick the wrong one first and be stuck with a year of regret lol

www.loseit.com Lose It! - Calorie counting made easy

With 40 million downloads and over 100 million pounds lost, Lose It! is on a mission to help the world achieve a healthy weight through calorie tracking and personal nutrition education.

What fitness/calorie app do you use (if any)?

I used to use LoseIt! but did not want to pay to upgrade to the full version without knowing how much help it would be. I’m just looking to upkeep my fitness and lose some weight in the process. It helps me to track everything and having everything on my phone makes it even easier. Also, the LoseIt! app does not take the iWatch Fitness Ring app data, so all of my workouts aren’t added in. Ideally, I’d love to have one place that can interact with my watch and phone data, where I can input my intake on a predicted schedule. If that makes any sense.

Does anybody here use anything like that? If so, what are your suggestions and thoughts? (PS, as I am new to lemmy, please let me know if this should be posted elsewhere).

    Fable 3 is a blast!
  • Glad you’re enjoying it! It’s super fun! It was my one and only collectors edition of any game. Still have the book box and everything. Been meaning to go back to it, especially after the announcement of 4. Wish they’d bring 2 to the PC though /:

  • It would definitely be helpful, but we can all manage in the meantime. I just didn’t want to do the wrong thing or upset the balance. This is its own thing and I want to learn y’all’s procedure and whatnot and adapt to you.

Thank you for that explanation! So I can still view all other content from any instance? That’s pretty cool! Are there any standard apps that are optimized for normal use? I’m currently using Mlem because that’s what worked. But I’m also seeing references to things like Mastodon, and Lemmy.World. But I’m still not sure if the lingo or what things mean.

Thanks for taking the time to explain! I appreciate it!

  • Awesome. Thank you! I’ve subbed to a few communities by random searching, but I’m glad to have like an aggregate showing. A lot of what I searched seems to be pretty dead for now. So I’d love to find some active communities. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for the welcome! Can you possibly point me to any sort of FAQ or anything for newbies? I’m a little turned around and confused about the servers and communities. Just want to make sure I tread lightly and don’t rock the boat as I just arrived from jumping ship.
