Looking for a spaceship/sci fi game to play. Any thoughts?
  • Gotta mention FTL: Faster Than Light. Not a 6dof game, but great fun commanding your crew and navigating some fun encounters.

  • Anyone else crazy enough to build their own retro-gaming machine?
  • I have a Windows 95/98 dual boot PC that I cobbled together with spare parts over the years. I keep it around to play things like Lego Rock Raiders and older PC games. Probably could just virtualize or something, but its fun having some older hardware.

  • How do you stay interested in something for a long time?
  • Instructions unclear. Starting new hobby tomorrow.

  • What were some "bad habits" on reddit that we should try to avoid bringing over here?
  • Tale as old as time. Even from forums. "Please use the search function before posting."

  • If you could play only 1 Game for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
  • Honestly, I already rotate through maybe 4-5 games. Skyrim or Minecraft could probably hold me over.

  • What was your first PC game ever, and how did you react to it?
  • Unsure which actually came first but it was a rotation of Lego Rock Raiders, Lego Racers, Lego Island 2 and Roller Coaster Tycoon.

  • Advice needed for a chronic lurker
  • I am using this sudden influx of newness to post more as well. Frankly I have nothing but positive interactions so far. I get way more interaction in the fediverse than I ever did on any other platform. All that to say, that I just started responding to random people's posts. Everyone has been friendly.

  • What's an innocent misconception about your hobby/profession that drives you up the wall?
  • I am a Windows and Cloud administrator. As soon as people hear cloud and computers, they start thinking that I am personally involved with building the metaverse and could work for NASA. Meanwhile, all the people on the technical sites and subreddits inflame my imposter syndrome every day.
