Trump Threatens Would Be ‘Very Dangerous’ If Jack Smith Sends Him To Jail In New Interview
  • Splitting the US like that would be absolute chaos and probably result in several civil wars. This would also destroy all federal aid programs and I can guarantee no states are going to step in to fill that void. Dividing the country further than it already is will not solve anything.

  • bad habbit
  • It took a little while, but they eventually learned not to knock on my door anymore lol After several tense encounters where I brought up the more unsavory parts of the Bible I finally got a doormat that just said "go away" on it. I think I was put on a list after that because that doormat wore out almost 3 years ago and no one from the local churches have ever come back here since

  • Shots fired from Pringles
  • Pringles are far superior to regular potato chips though, so it's less of a "trade off" and more of a "win win" situation

  • Quantum computer built by Google can instantly execute a task that would normally take 47 years
  • It looks like an interesting article, however I couldn't read it due to 75% of the screen being taken up by ads that could not be closed. I managed to read a paragraph before they covered up pretty much the whole rest of the article

  • Business Eticate
  • If you're going on Quora to get advice on how to "sound professional" then you've probably failed already

  • YSK: Anyone worth talking to has already left Reddit
  • There will for sure be lots of people there for a long while yet. It will mostly be people who just aren't willing to learn anything new, or real diehards who will keep insisting that "things will get better".

Oh, and trolls. Lots of trolls. Trolls and scam artists and edgy 12 year olds trying to correct people.

As OP said, no one you'd really want to talk to

  • Any love for the N64?
  • I never had an N64. I loved my SNES and was excited when N64 came out when I was in highschool, but then I played it at my friends house and I just really didn't like the controller. I ended up switching over to PlayStation until GameCube came out a few years later

I've played some of the games on emulator with my own controller since and they were pretty fun, but I really hated that original controller lol

  • Or Beanies, just Beanies

  • I deleted my reddit account last night. Feels good. Bittersweet but liberating.
  • I invested so much time into it. It feels like deleting a draft of a novel or something

  • Enjoy your fireworks, America
  • Those are some awfully penis-y looking fireworks lol

  • I deleted my reddit account last night. Feels good. Bittersweet but liberating.
  • I have no intention of going back to Reddit, but I can't bring myself to delete the profile yet lol

  • Can you smell this picture?
  • Goddamnit I just ate and now this is making me hungry again lol

  • Reddit's API protest just got even more NSFW
  • I'm not normally the kind of person that takes pleasure in seeing others fail. At least I try not to be.

I really want to see Steve Huffman fail though

  • ketchup rule
  • I remember when this came out I wanted to try it so bad but my parents said it would make the food look gross and refused to buy it lol

  • Kbin: What is your all time favourite video game?
  • I was hoping someone said this one lol Super Metroid was so good even my mom and my aunt got hooked on it right along with me!

  • 3rd party app for Reddit, Boost, is still functioning well after July 1st
  • Reddit will be fine in the short term sure, but anyone who actually gave enough of a shit to put in the effort needed for it to work well have left or stated that they will no longer do anything more than the bare minimum. Reddit will still be around for a while, but it will never be the same place it was, and eventually will just become irrelevant as it's overrun with trolls and scammers. I give it 3 - 5 more years before it disappears without fanfare and no one will care.

  • What's wrong with using a browser to view Lemmy? Seems like a lot of posts are about best apps for Lemmy. Am I missing out on something by not using an app?
  • I don't think there's anything wrong with using a web browser. I think people like the app just because it makes it easier to manage when browsing on the phone.

Since I work from home on a company PC now trying to use my own PC for anything is depressing lol so now I browse pretty much exclusively from my Android phone

  • IAmA mods no longer willing to work for reddit for free
  • So you mean Reddit gives mods a bunch of worthless garbage, er I mean "moon tokens", and then it's up to the mods to convince someone else that it's worth something and trick them into buying it?

That just makes me even more glad I'm not there anymore lol

  • Are we gonna make a big difference after this migration?
  • A million or more people leaving will not have that big of an effect on its own, no. Since most of the people who left were the people who actually cared though will eventually make a difference. Everything that's wrong with Reddit now is going to get 10 times worse. Popular subs will be overrun with trolls and spam. Mods won't care anymore since no one apparently cared about the work they did. Eventually it will turn into a marketing tool for shitty bands to sell albums, and scammers to rip people off like Myspace did so long ago.

It might take a year or two or even 5 before it is unrecognizable, and that will be now Reddit ends. No one will care by then. It probably won't even make the news
