feature request: block nsfw from main feeds
  • I even went as far as having two user accounts with very different names, one registered with lemmynsfw instance and one lemmyworld with the intention that world would have all nsfw off all the time and obviously nsfw always on.

Within the connect app the nsfw setting is blanket and can't differentiate between settings when on different accounts/instances. It would be great if that was possible.

  • auto / play gifs embedded

I have noticed that only a small handful of gifs will play automatically and within the app while scrolling through a community, but the vast, vast majority of the time a link is shown and you have to navigate away from the feed / lemmy (in the built in browser) to view them.

I thought it might be a limitation of lemmy / the fediverse until I saw the few above mentioned gifs.

Is the playing of (nearly) all gifs within Connect something that can happen and will come in time?

    Thanks.

Why do some car exhausts drip fluid?
  • You're right, it is water. One of the products of Burning of hydro carbons is water - when the exhaust is cold it condenses and collects / drips from the exhaust. When the system has been running for a while it'll get hot enough that the gases don't hit their due point and any existing condensed water should evaporate and be carried away with the flow of exhaust gasess. On really cold days you can usually always see the exhaust gases when the car is stationary.

It obviously catches some of the particulates / exhaust fumes and is a little nasty and that's why maybe you thought it was something else.
