[Comicbook] Dungeons & Dragons to Release New Unearthed Arcana Playtest, Shifts 2024 Player's Handbook Back to 5E Standards
  • I kind of wish they'd just go for full 6e. I have a feeling that these new core books won't sell as well as they hope. Sure it might have a boost from the hard-core market immediately. But what incentive is there for the casual players to upgrade? They said themselves that the old core PHB will still be usable along side the new one. So really as long as the DM has the new book there is no reason for the existing players to upgrade.

  • Four apps and counting, how is everyone else doing?
  • I am migrating from reddit and chose connect first. It has a layout very similar to the reddit client I used before RIF. I really like how as a comment thread gets longer the color changes to make it easier to keep track of.

Only issue I have had so far is a single crash, while loading a news article. Other than that, it has been great.

  • Glad they are casting relatively unknowns. At this point I think we need a clean cut from the DCEU. I actually didn't think The Flash was too terrible a movie, but the former universe is was too muddy and confusing. A clean reset in my opinion has the greatest possibility of drawing back in general audiences.

  • Poll: GMs, where do you find players? Players, where do you find games?
  • I recently moved to a new city that had a very small ttrpg presence. So here is my advice:

    • Check local Facebook groups. Yes, I know, Facebook is terrible. I agree there. However, I still think it is a great resource. Try finding a D&D groups that specifically is for your state. If you are lucky your county or city might have one too. If there is a FLGS, try posting on their page if they have one.

    • Check if there are any discord groups for your state or area. This is probably the easiest way to find players in my opinion. I have had less flake outs from discord but your milage may vary.

    • Lastly, try your local library. Some libraries will have groups already going and even rulebooks you can borrow. If they don't already have a group ask the librarian if there is anyway you could start an open group.
