What are computer gadgets everyone should own?
  • +1 on the good chair. I've spend 500 Euros and don't regret my decision.

But why the head rest? Any source I've had (including a ergonomics specialist I've had a short talk with after buying the chair) said that your head should much rather move freely.

  • What are the most mindblowing things in mathematics?
  • Yes, you don't actually have to switch. You could also throw a coin to decide to stay at the current door or to switch. By throwing a coin, you actually improved your chances of winning the price.

  • Sync for Lemmy (beta) is now live for everyone
  • Oh, so nice. I love to have it back!

Just wondering, is there a known issue about hidden posts? I hide them with a swipe action, but when in refresh the feed later on - the hidden posts appear once again.

  • rule the waves
  • I think they are actually proper kites flying rather high (at least compared to regular sails) in approximate 300 m AGL.

The big difference is that at this hight there is significantly stronger wind.

  • Is it possible to change the default swipe actions?

I love the swipe actions on a post. Having those was the biggest reason I used Sync for reddit back when it worked.

That said I never use the 'swipe to comment' action on post, but always the 'hide' action (so I can remember which posts I've already seen). I do often end up triggering the comment action when I meant to hide a post.

Is there a setting where I can change the binding of the actions? I'd love to simply disable the comment one and have all the right-to-left actions set to 'hide'.

Baldur's Gate 3 Will Take 200 Hours To Fully Complete, Larian Studios Says
  • I usually dislike games that take that long because there usually is not a lot of interesting content. That said, Larian Studios did manage to keep me interested for a long time with Divinity 2, so I'm optimistic about those news.

  • What from reddit do you hope to never see on lemmy?
  • I absolutely hate the love for revenge violence. Stuff like celebration people running over protestors in their cars because they were forced to stop on the road. Or bleeding out after someone got shot when they robbed a store.

This includes that fact that you can basically guarantee every thread contains at least one comment claiming "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

  • Lemmy active users grew by an astounding 1600% in June
  • The thing that would come to my mind would be game specific communities, like one for stellaris, another for the last of us, etc.

If I wouldn't mind the work of moderating, I'd probably create one :)
