The worst physical pain you've ever experienced ?
  • I stabbed myself in that soft spot on the hand, between the thumb and the finger you point with. That wasn't the painful part. I had to get stitches, they said the anesthesia injection would hurt as much as just having the stitches, so I agreed to do it without any anesthesia/painkiller or whatever you call those injections to numb the area.

That is the worst pain I've ever felt and I had to feel it twice, because as soon as I left the hospital, I let the hand hang down my side and the blood rushing there caused the stitch to loosen and blood to run out, so I went back inside and they grabbed both ends of the knot on the stitch with pliers and pulled to tighten them. That hurt so much that I actually made a little girly yelp that I've never heard myself make before or after.

    Maybe I'm a wuss?

How do I tell my neighbours the windows in their bathroom are not frosted enough?
  • I feel like most of the comments are making a bigger deal out of this than it really is. "Hey guys, just FYI your frosted windows aren't frosted enough, we can see through them from over here, just thought you should know"

It's not really a complicated conversation.

  • Made a bunch of seedling cuttings today - Was wondering, what substrate others use for germinating pine? Sifted sand was a success this year.
  • I wish I could, but I don't have access to any good pines near me sadly. I usually just order online, plant a few 100 and keep the ones that thrive.

Mostly Japanese black pine and Scots pines, Mugo pine. I'm sure JBP would grow great in Australia. I'm in Scandinavia so I tend to stick to the more hardy pines.

  • Yes sir, just regular masonry/construction sand where all the smaller stuff is sifted out. I've been experimenting with different stuff over the years, this worked the best so far. I think it has something to do with how much air is in the mix.

I've already taken a lot of seedling cuttings from the tray, but a month ago it was absolutely full of trees.

Mugo Pine. I wonder if the browning needles are cause for concern or not. I assume it's just last years needles. (Hope this photo is oriented correctly, not sure how to ensure that on this site)

What do you think of this pot for the Firethorn? IMO good contrast with the orange berries
