Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward Matt Duchene to a one-year contract, which will run through the 2023-24 season.
The two-time NHL All-Star appeared in 71 regular-season games for Nashville in 2022-23, during which he led the team in goals and ranked second in assists and points
I agree 100% he seems like someone that could really turn into something if his development is given a little patience.
DBD: Ty Dellandrea 2023 Player Grade
A staple alongside Wyatt Johnston and Jamie Benn for much of the year, Dellandrea struggled a bit when separated. But was that his fault?
I can't wait for this kid to round off his sharp edges. I think with experience he will be able to contribute more to diverse pairings. I just hope he learns to keep his head up, it seems like he was getting flattened every game.
As great as this would be, we kind of have a log jam of skilled, young, undersized forwards. I would rather we use that cap space to shore up our defense so we don't get exposed like we did against VGK.
