  • Hey it’s me! Your high school friend who never addressed their insecurities and made their entire life about how they don’t live somewhere and what restaurants they eat at.

Anyway, here’s an article about how I perceive everything as racist so I can continue feeling superior to everyone

  • The Reddit app-pocalyse is here: Apollo, Sync, and BaconReader go dark
  • The “hot” front page STILL has posts from days ago.

I give it 3 days before people cave and go back. People will always find a way to get their dopamine fix. If lemmy doesn’t have what they want, suffering through the shitty Reddit app will be a cakewalk compared to giving up the habit altogether

  • Sony’s PlayStation chief says publishers hate Xbox Game Pass
  • I subscribed to it but never used it because for me personally, I realized I’m only interested in games I want to play.

Searching for something to just play (like Netflix) to kill time doesn’t really appeal to me.

I think you make an interesting point and this is my fear as well. Publishers will no longer have the incentive of the game having to be great to get sales if they’re paid just to have it exist in a sea of options on Game Pass

With apps like Mlem on iOS, we are getting very close to an Apollo+Reddit experience. How can Reddit successfully monetize what are basically just forums? What makes it special anymore ?

The type of grade A posts making it to the front page of r/all nowadays. This is some Facebook level crap

r/Apple mods cave to spez’s threats and open the sub back up

How can the fediverse scale and grow to large communities like Reddit without large infrastructure and servers? How can a non-profit driven platform afford to keep the lights on if this takes off?

The front page of Lemmy is mostly posts from 2-4 days ago. I can see people getting bored/not bothering to check back if it's always the same posts on the default sort.

Many subreddits coming back online and daily posts/comments appear to be returning. It is a little disappointing to see how little of an effect this actually had. What are your thoughts?

    Welcome Redditors!

Welcome Reddit refugees! r/SBCGaming is one of my favorite subreddits, and I wanted to create a place for those who would like to leave the mothership for an alternative.

If you are here, please participate! I would love to see this place be as active as the subreddit some day.
