OnePlus Ace 2 Pro to feature a "Rain Water Touch" screen
  • As long as the screen isn't totally wet, I don't have much trouble reading off of it.

  • Reddit refugees on Lemmy, how you guys liking lemmy so far?
  • It's fine, but a bit limited, mostly because I usually used Reddit for a bunch of niche stuff that hasn't made its way over here yet. If it does, I'll be pretty happy. If not, I'll go follow the subs to Discord or wherever they end up going, or just check in on Reddit on occasion if the communities stay where they are.

  • Do you think Android will one day become so restrictive that sideloading (installing apps outside of Playstore) will become extremely limited, or completely banned?
  • Assuming that there will be phones with unlockable bootloaders sold in the US in the future. There are precious few of them now. Importing's always an option (and quite easy these days), but then you run into the problem of band support.

  • Half in the Bag: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

We had a lot of dumb technical issues when filming this episode. One of our stupid mics stopped working 2 minutes into our discussion but we didn't discover that until after talking about the stupid Indiana Jones movie for 45 minutes so then we had to start the stupid discussion all over again. And for some reason on the second time we shot it, Rich Evans' microphone made him sound extra echo-y because Rich Evans is a sound anomaly. But you can still understand everything we say as we painstakingly go through this boring movie. So just relax and have fun, everybody. Relax and have fun!!! And Happy Birthday, Grimace!

Xbox Made a Fancy Controller Out of Actual Jade - IGN
  • That coloring makes it look an awful lot like an accessory for the OG Xbox.

  • How are there still people posting youtube comments?
  • It has to be the sort of content you're watching... most of the time I'm watching tech news, nature sports, cars and engineering-related stuff and if I ever come across that sort of post, it's one in a hundred or so. I have heard that YouTube will often recommend videos that drive negative engagement, so maybe that has something to do with it?

  • Fry wonders
  • To quote another Matt Groening show: "A little from column A, a little from column B."

  • Jeff Van Gundy let go as one of ESPN’s big-name layoffs
  • Screw you ingrates! I'm going to start my own network, with blackjack, and hookers! Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised to see JVG and several other former ESPN personalities end up on Fox Sports, NBC or whoever wins the upcoming battle for the league's TV rights. Personally I'd like to see NBC get them again, since they'd likely bring back Bob Costas and their Sunday NFL offering has been very solid since they started doing football again.

  • [MEGATHREAD] What did you buy in the Steam Summer Sale?
  • If you've yet to buy it, go take a look at GG.Deals; it's a great price comparison tool that lets you look at prices across a bunch of online stores.

  • “Reddit cannot survive without its moderators. It cannot.” - The Verge
  • To be fair, a lot of Reddit was starting to turn into that anyway. Not the more niche subs, but many of the bigger ones had been going in that direction for a while now.

  • Just bought Diablo 3 with all dlc for $22 on xbox
  • It goes on sale once every couple of months, and was on sale for under $20 just before 4 came out. Since the Xbox Summer Sale is coming up again in a week or two, it'll drop down again.

  • Sony’s PlayStation handheld reportedly arriving in November
  • There's actually a third party app on the Play Store that's better than Sony's default offering: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=psplay.grill.com

The developer's also made an Xbox version, for any of you who might have one of those.

  • List of Instances pledging to block Meta Instances
  • Yep, it looks as if they're working on a Twitter alternative that'd use the ActivityPub protocol, which Mastodon, Lemmy, Peertube, Kbin, etc all use.

  • Raptors Signing Jakob Poeltl Far From A Sure Thing
  • Because Masai has been fence sitting ever since they won that title back in 2019. He's so in love with some of his own guys that I don't think he can bring himself to do a full teardown.

  • How hurtful will be using Reddit revanced app and advertising to use it will be to Reddit?
  • That is it, but unfortunately it only works with the official app. If I recall, it strips out a couple of the more annoying features and blocks ads.

  • Something I WONT miss from Reddit/other social medias
  • Old Reddit was certainly plain and stripped-down, but when was it ever hard to use?

  • Welcome reddit refugees!

  • I went to Reddit today...
  • I'm just hoping that most of my favorite niche subs move to something more decentralized; Reddit has a bunch of specialized communities that I'd hate to lose.
