"621…I’ll give you a reason to exist. Let’s get to work."ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON engages the enemy on August 25, 2023.
Making some serious progress in Tears of the Kingdom and finishing up Final Fantasy XVI.
Trying to get things squared away, Remnant 2 come out soon and I'm excited about that.
Make a backup, but yes. The new DynamicFPS mod from Chucksfeedandseed is a game changer, allows resolution to be scaled natively as opposed to using the Yuzu scaler. Way, way better image quality and fixes issues like the Sky Islands being weird.

Really cool video making use of a tool to count the actual pixels of boss health bars as opposed to relying on the damage screen at the end which can be pretty unreliable.

Feelsbadman for Titans a bit though :(
Bungie wins $400K lawsuit against individual who harassed and threatened community manager
Edit:
Was true. 1000% was the dirtbag who harassed DMG and his wife, which played a role in his leaving.
Honestly screw people like this. Sets an interesting precedent for the future.
I'm not super feeling it either. Not horrible looking, but I expected a lot more. I know people get angry with the POE comps and Diablo, but this would be a pretty weak POE league and I was expecting something a lot more in line with the more ambitious POE offerings for the first season.
Don't want to be doomer and I already had a great time/got value out of the game, but there's a lot D4 needs for me to continue to have a great time with it and this didn't really move the needle. I'll probably check it out and see if there's any cool builds to play with the hearts, but I'm not overly excited about what has been shown. Hopefully the boss is cool.
Would love to see more X style games personally, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Capcom take a big risk and try to modernize the franchise too. Was always intrigued by the Maverick Hunter gameplay footage personally although I know it's somewhat polarizing.
Honestly, at this point anything that ins't a mobile cash grab game would be fun to dream on at least!
Hopefully finishing Final Fantasy XVI. Mixing in some TOTK too, fell off that one a bit because I degen'd my way to 100 in Diablo 4. Getting back into it has been really fun.
I sincerely hope this works as well as this article says it does and Ubi shares the technology with other games. XIM(Cronus stuff even more so honestly someone figure that one out plz) is a plague on a few games I play.
Interested to see how build altering the hearts will be. Definitely feel like build variety was a weak point of vanilla D4 so anything that opens up more possibilities is welcome.
Diablo IV Patch Notes | 1.0.4 Build
We will continually update this article with all patches the development team implements for Diablo IV.
Interested to see how often uniques drop from Helltide chests. Could be an interesting way to target farm.
Renown stuff is a pretty big W. Nice to see them respond to feedback.
As Resident Evil and Street Fighter flourish, Capcom has said sequels to more obscure franchises could happen, including Sengoku Basara.
Interested to see what they have on offer!
Never played a Diablo 3 season, but based on what I heard those were fairly well received at the end. They've said they want Diablo 4 seasons to be an even bigger deal.
Not sure what to expect, but more to do would be cool. Path of Exile does a great job adding to the endgame with its leagues so something like that would be awesome.
Ornstein and Smough on the 1.0 version of Dark Souls in 2011 when I was very bad at Dark Souls and video games in general. In the DLC Hawkeye Gough has some line about how hunting the dragons teased out his dearest emotions and that's truly how I felt about my O&S experience. They kicked the ever loving shit out of me so many times. I remember finally scoring the kill in spite of the controller nearly falling out of my hands due to sweat at like 4 AM. Reacted a bit too loud, woke up my girlfriend (now wife haha). Just one of those moments that I will always remember.
Besides that, mostly all the Destiny raids haha. The Day 1 raiding experience in Destiny is just such a unique and awesome thing. Nothing quite like problem solving with a group of friends. Deep Stone Crypt is probably the most memorable of such experienced to me, first time the group I play with tried a Day 1 raid and completing it just gave me such a crazy high.
Report: Stefon Diggs is unhappy with his role in offense, voice in play-calling
The Stefon Diggs drama in Buffalo provided plenty of entertainment and intrigue for roughly 24 hours last week, before Bills coach Sean McDermott shifted into full-blown nothing-to-see-here mode.Of course there is plenty of see. We saw it play out on Tuesday. A truce somehow was negotiated between T...
Possible explanation for whatever is going on with Diggs.
It's quite good. Definitely referential, but it has enough wiggle with some of the thematic stuff that it can get away with it. Will be cool to see where the stuff with "feeling springs reacting" leads to.
Gameplay felt more than serviceable but not quite on the level of a From Software title in the slice we played. More than good enough though. Excited for the full release.
dude is super talented and it showed last year but just cannot stop messing up. Was a 5 star recruit going into USC and got kicked out. Suspended by Patriots at the end of last year in spite of being arguably their best defensive back. Sitting on a winning hand but cannot get out of his own way.
bonus points: he also tweeted at Ja Morant last month calling him an idiot for putting social media clout and guns over his career lol
Nightmare Dungeon Sigils will now act as a fast travel item that will immediately take players to the chosen Nightmare Dungeon on use.
this is huge. One of my biggest complaints about Nightmare dungeons.
Nice to see resists getting some attention too. I like that resists aren't like a crazy mandatory stat the way they are in something like Path of Exile, but having a completely dead affix on items kind of stinks too.
Tons of great ones this year
Resident Evil 4 Remake was a real highlight for me, just a stellar way to revisit what I consider to be one of the best games of all time.
Haven't finished it, but Tears of the Kingdom seems like it's on its way to be a historically significant game and deserves the praise.
Jedi Survivor is a favorite for me. Really good review scores, but it ticks a lot of the right boxes for my personal taste and elevates it even higher. Technical issues aside, thought it was a far better game than Fallen Order.
Diablo 4 is also a lot of fun but I'm undecided as to how I feel about the endgame. As a campaign experience right up there though.
....soo much to play right now haha.
Really vivid memories of going Christmas shopping with my mother and getting Final Fantasy X with the strategy guide as an early gift when I was young. I think it had just released and it was all over the magazines I was subscribed to (shoutout Gamepro haha). Was super engrossed with it during that break. I always interested in RPGs, but I was at just the right age to really start enjoying them a lot more when that game came out. Was a really awesome, memorable winter break.
...on a more duderbo note, my high school friends and I would stay up ungodly hours and drink waaaaay too many Five Hour energy shots playing Halo 3 and later Reach. Undoubtably unhealthy, but very good times.

lot of attrition at Arkane Austin per this thread
Xbox has no immediate plans to shutter Redfall developer Arkane, after the studio's latest launch failed to find much o…
Good to hear. Arcane has made some stellar titles over the years. It would be incredibly reactionary to shutter the studio for Redfall.
They seem entirely content with burning it down and seeing what they're left with after. Not even pretending to play nice anymore.
Yeah even as someone who loves those types of games it's definitely a thing that's beginning to impose itself on the space a bit too much at this point. This looks fresh compared to how most third person RPGs are these days.

Feels like this has been a little bit slept on. Looks promising! Decent pedigree from the devs having done the first Lords of the Fallen and The Surge series.
Looks to be moving away from the Soulslike direction their recent titles have taken and more towards a more conventional action RPG. Movement looks cool!
Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger are the first two I think of personally. Just historically great games with legacies that are still felt today.
See through plastic is still cool and I will fight anyone that says otherwise.

What did people think of Ghosts of the Deep?
It's been a bit of time. What are peoples overall thoughts about the new dungeon?
Disclaimer I only have two clears but I thought it was....mostly excellent really.
The past year has been really rough for me in terms of raid/dungeon content. Neither Spire of the Watcher or Root of Nightmares really hit for me for a variety of reasons. Went into Ghosts expecting it to be a trend that continued, but walked away super impressed.
The scale of it all was super impressive and I loved seeing a new style of environment delivered in the unique palette Destiny uses.
The mechanic itself was pretty simple, but the way they dressed it up worked pretty well.
...only real complaint about it that I have is that the first encounter drags a little bit. If it ended one cycle early it would feel a lot better IMO.

What has everyone been playing lately?
What's everyone on /m/gaming playing lately?
I'm still making my way through the Diablo IV campaign, really enjoying that but looking forward to blasting and figuring out if I enjoy the endgame more than anything at this point. I'm a binge Path of Exile player but the past few leagues haven't really done it for me. It's been nice to play an ARPG again and I'm enjoying D4's slower pace. Zoom zoom is great in POE, but it's nice to get back to basics a little bit.
Went with Whirlwind Barbarian. Know it's meta, but Cyclone Slayer is my favorite POE build so I'm just trying to enjoy my time as the overpowered class rather than fighting it haha.
Played through the Lies of P demo as well and thought it was mostly great. Not the greatest example of gameplay for the genre IMO, but the production values and the vibe were stellar.
How about you guys?
Personal collection of useful links for Destiny players!
Hey this place is still pretty new!
As far as I can see, this is the only spot on the forum/link aggregator fediverse space for this game. Think the way to grow things like this is with higher effort posts, so here's my attempt at that.
Here are some links I think are extremely useful to Destiny players as well as a description of what they do/are!
DIM: Destiny Item Manager
https://app.destinyitemmanager.com
An essential resource for all Destiny players. DIM allows easy management of your items from a browser window but also packs many other powerful features. Loadout management, appraisal of weapon rolls, and other quality-of-life features are highlights.
D2Armorpicker
Incredible build crafting resource. D2Armorpicker will allow you to specify the stat profile you are looking for with an exotic and search all the armor you own to see stat possibilities. D2Armorpicker will account for stat benefits/detractions from fragments if specified. Start here when making a new build!
light.gg
A general-purpose Destiny 2 database. light.gg indexes all obtainable items in the game. Players often use this to check what's new in a season. light.gg will also list items currently available from vendors like Xur and the Gunsmith. It offers an appraisal of these weapons as well, but be warned: the appraisal is based on the raw popularity of perks and often misses nuances.
d2foundry
A D2Gunsmith replacement. Allows you to see what rolls on weapons, how perks affect their stats, and offers community research into how perks work. Filtering weapons based on their available perks, frame, and element allows you to find a weapon to complete your build.
Braytech
A general-purpose Destiny companion app with many feautures. A number of said features are geared around helping collectors locate things they are missing, with maps helping you locate various collectibles and triumphs.

Two Persona games, the remake of Persona 3 and a Persona 5 strategy game, have leaked ahead of the Xbox Games Showcase.
Little ahead of schedule on this one haha.

Looks cool! Appears to be the same engine/style as Persona 5. Should breathe new life into a classic game.
