What would be your ideal outcome of the war of the 5 kings?
  • Stannis is the most straightforward choice, but remember that we still don't really know what the Others are or how they can be defeated. If the only thing that can defeat them is fire, then the the best WOT5K outcome might be whoever leaves the realm most vulnerable to Dany's invasion so that she's in charge and invested in the fate of Westeros when the Others arrive, which probably means Joffrey. If the only thing that can defeat them is Bran and/or the COTF, the ideal victor is whoever is most likely to take Bran and ice magic most seriously, which might be Robb, given the family connection, belief in the Old Gods and the likelihood that Robb himself was a warg.

  • Beautiful theory on a happy ending for Dany (by u/Lonelurk)
  • Hooh boy. This is the real price George will pay for taking so long. Fans create and become invested in rich headcannons that will never match George's writing no matter how he answers the big questions. That user is setting themself up for more disappointment if Dream is published than if it isn't.

  • Should we message and invite the mods from /r/ASOIAF to join this community?
  • I'd be happy for r/asoiaf to migrate to Lemmy, but first impressions are most important. If this site gets linked from Reddit and it's totally devoid of content, people will write it off and never return. I'm hoping to do my part by starting a weekly post series reviewing some of the most interesting theories, but i think this place needs daily posts getting 10+ comments before we should ask the Reddit mods to publicly endorse a migration.
