Came here to post this. The Reuters of gaming news since... forever. It's incredible how they're still around; I remember using them in like 2001.
I'd rather stab out my eyeballs with a fork than having to do altars again tbh. One of the most tedious things I ever had the displeasure to do in gaming.
Amazing. This is now my default lemmy viewer on desktop. Commenting for visibility.
Headbobbing doesn't help with immersion but leads to me wanting to puke violently. Looking at you, east European first person games. At least let me turn it off, then we're cool.
As someone who lives in an apartment, whatever noise cancelling Headphone I use at the moment (Bose QC right now). These things changed my life for the better.
I recently had the pleasure to slay it actually. It was the kinda like Twilight Zone but Horror 'Night Gallery' from 1996. It did exist, but the torrent that was circulating was messed up beyond belief. Episodes cut off at 20 minutes etc. Some dude on a private tracker ripped the whole thing anew for me.
'That meow clearly indicates the cat is in pain, you MONSTER. Some people shouldn't have pets'
Sorting by controversial. It became an unhealthy habit for me. Almost like I was enjoying my anger.
undefined> Let me know if you need help setting it up, this is the best way to get German content
I'd be interested in such a guide. For a friend. He pays for Rapidgator to direct download from Mygully and such and I hate to see it because most uploaders are in it for the money and their preferred hosting companies change often due to which has the biggest payout at the time.
What does he need, how to set it up, what does it cost alltogether.
You can still use Calibre to fetch and sync pocket articles to your Kobo I believe. Not as comfy as the native solution but what can you do.
Which isn't entirely accurate if at all. It extrapolates the dislikes from its own database ie users who have it installed. Compared to the entire user base of Youtube this is an incredibly tiny sample size.
undefined> I have to go watch 10 YouTube videos to get an idea, and even some of THOSE are text to speech product spec regurgitators, again just content farming for affiliate links.
Not to mention the removal of dislikes on Youtube, which makes it even HARDER to find quality tutorial type videos
Growing up with a Commodore 64 I am just now discovering that there are new 64 games being developed all the time. This week I spent hours with a pretty much perfect if not better arcade clone of Berzerk called Berzerk Redux for the 64 and some Roguelike called Demons of Dex.
The thing is, around here they went for the liquids instead of the devices themselves. I used to be able to buy litres of the stuff for about a sixth of the price of tobacco. Now they taxed it so high it is no longer feasable to vape, at least at sub ohm. Tobacco prices went up hardly at all, go figure.
Day 1
I smoked for about 30 years and almost beat the addiction in 2021 via vaping but due to lobbyists making vapes pretty much unaffordable in my country I quickly went back to tobacco. I am determined to make it this time. I refuse to let this stuff control my body and mind any longer.
To seed back on private trackers without issues for one thing but at that point a seedbox is better anyway.
Haha, same with Mya. I love buying books but if it's not a literary classic, most old stuff doesn't get reprints, or ebook versions even. For me it's New Wave Science Fiction, Anthologies and Sword&Sorcery Fantasy stuff.
How to Google without Reddit
Like, for example I have a specific issue with a digital audio converter by a popular brand but their customer service is awful. A simple google prompt followed by site:reddit.com would yield solutions almost every time. In fact I would say I did 90% of my googling that way. How do I break this cycle and do you feel this is one of the biggest challenges we're facing? If anything, Reddit remains the biggest repo of easily accessible solutions for anything. We're seeing right now what happens if this is being taken away by subs going private. Vanilla Google is a shitshow.
Last time I used it, it really struggled with subtitles, especially anime subs. Right now I just use plex for media management and Kodi on all my devices to watch stuff via a Kodi addon.
