Generative AI Goes 'MAD' When Trained on AI-Created Data Over Five Times
  • Incest is always bad even amongst computers and data sets

  • Theory: the only reason Meta cares about the fediverse / ActivityPub is so that threads isn't labeled a "gatekeeper" under the EU's new "Digital Markets Act"
  • Exactly, due to metas nearly unlimited funding they can afford extra server strain for exclusive features that you'll miss out unless you're on threads

  • US Secret Service investigating as cocaine reportedly found in White House
  • Didn't Willie Nelson smoke weed on the roof with the presidents son lol

  • r/Blind's Meetings with Reddit and the Current Situation Regarding Accessibility and API Changes
  • Of course they're trying to stay in Reddit's good side, we already saw what happened with the Apollo dev - one small joke and they freaked out. I'd be walking on eggshells too

  • Which Lemmy instance will be the biggest in 6 months?
  • Exactly, the easy access and low barrier of entry (like reddit, twitter, etc.) make it perfect to populate. That's kind of why some of the instances need signups right, to keep out the riff riff?

  • Which Lemmy instance will be the biggest in 6 months?
  • No way it's not Lemmy.world, once all the normies (for lack of a better term) learn about it they'll go swarming. It's already growing fast

  • Picking an instance
  • Sick, I didn't know that thanks. They all still seem to be mostly vanity urls and not moderation like beehaw though

  • Picking an instance
  • It's just whatever vanity url you want then, no? Just like an email service. They're not all that different, but no one want to be a (@)yahoo.com - same shit

  • Picking an instance
  • Kbin is really only one instance (kbin.social - the only alternatives are alt language instances, I think?) so just use kbin social because it's 100% unfettered access then sub to what you want and block what you don't. It's just like Reddit/Twitter and it's nice not having head mods rule what you can and can't see

  • Beehive: an update to defederating from sh.itjust.works
  • Yes? That's explicitly the purpose. I get it's shitty but it's pretty stupid to go to a place where they outright tell you they're going to censor you and then get mad that they do it

  • Picking an instance
  • Just use kbin it's way better

  • Games with good procedural generation?
  • Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the best game of all time and changes gameplay (via powerups) in random combination that can make a god run or a really shit one. Highly recommend it

  • Beehive: an update to defederating from sh.itjust.works
  • They explicitly state that they're making a safe space in their TOS thing, no?
